spcl4cs_gal Posted May 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2014 Hello from Toronto, Canada! My cousin and I are looking into taking the 15 day Hawaii cruise out of Vancouver and we are wondering which inside cabins would be the best to book. I don't think there are any connecting cabins (Inside) on the Grand so we would be looking at side-by-sides or across the hall cabins. Any help with cabin selection would be great. Thanks! :)
Nan_Sea Posted May 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2014 People have varied opinions on where the best cabins are. We prefer midship on a deck with cabins above and below. On the Grand I would probably choose Caribe either midship or mid aft as close to midship as possible. Just my preference.

Nan_Sea Posted May 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2014 Dave, you always choose the Plaza, right?
Colo Cruiser Posted May 16, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2014 Aloha deck aft near the doors to the aft pool.
Nan_Sea Posted May 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2014 I think my point is made. We all have a different idea of where the best cabins are.

Thanks! :) I would chose Plaza cabins 318 to 331. The are close to the Piazza and all the MDR's . It's easy to get to the Lido and pool decks from there. Second chose would be the Lido Deck . More walking is required to get any of the facilities other than the Horizon Court.
sweet carol Posted May 16, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 16, 2014 In this class of ship we like the inside aft cabins on Baha close to aft pool and our favorite place for sail away.
Stevesan Posted May 16, 2014 #9 Share Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) Grand has six inside cabins on Aloha deck that look larger than the others. They look larger because they are. 182sf compared to the standard 160sft. 516, 517, 507, 508, 417, 421. http://www.princess.com/deckPlans.do?shipCode=AP The larger size is not their best feature. The layout is a great improvement over the standard. Some photos of one (scroll down to post #2): http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1728255 You'll find that all grand class ships, and most subsequent, have these cabins. USNUZULOOSE Posted May 16, 2014 #10 Share Posted May 16, 2014 We were on plaza in 212. It was a nice cabin and next to the laundry room.
Nan_Sea Posted May 16, 2014 #11 Share Posted May 16, 2014 Is noise or movement of the ship an issue on the Plaza deck?
Daisyloo Posted May 16, 2014 #12 Share Posted May 16, 2014 I agree with the previous posters who said Plaza deck. We loved that location. We were just about 10 cabins forward of the IC. Loved being there. Easy to get to Piazza, IC, the dining rooms. Easy for getting on and off in ports.
cruzsnooze Posted May 16, 2014 #13 Share Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) Hello from Toronto, Canada! My cousin and I are looking into taking the 15 day Hawaii cruise out of Vancouver and we are wondering which inside cabins would be the best to book. All inside cabins look the same with the lights off. Edited May 16, 2014 by cruzsnooze
iceleven Posted May 16, 2014 #14 Share Posted May 16, 2014 If you have no problems with ship movement and would enjoy a quick access to an outside deck, I recommend Emerald deck forward. There are exit doors on both sides (most people are not aware of) that will take you right out to the Whale's Mouth at the most forward section of the ship on deck 8. Some of the aft deck inside cabins that are popular because of the quick access to the aft pool decks are also under the deck where chairs are moved around so it may be a problem for noise. cdngrl Posted May 17, 2014 #15 Share Posted May 17, 2014 plaza or lido for me...lido closer to pools, pizza, grille, same deck as buffet...plaza closer to international café, dining rooms, piazza.
Rare 4cats4me Posted May 17, 2014 #16 Share Posted May 17, 2014 Hi, We just booked so insides on the Grand on BAJA, mid-forward It was a very tough decision beeeen that or Plaza! But we worry about the casino being above the cabins in Plaza and the potential fir smelling smoke, although no one has reported smelling smoke I would caution against aft Aloha on the Grand due to recent reports of leakage where the superstructure was removed. Someone just write a review where they had to be moved due to definite moldy smell in the aft section of Aloha deck
USNUZULOOSE Posted May 17, 2014 #17 Share Posted May 17, 2014 Is noise or movement of the ship an issue on the Plaza deck? We had movement from being toward the front , but for me I like it. It is a gentle rocking for going to sleep. Midship is great for people who do not care for the movement.
