[quote name='#1Nanna']When will they post a schedule of what ships will be using the new terminal? We have a cruise scheduled for January and I am wondering which pier we will be using.[/QUOTE]

[FONT="Comic Sans MS"][SIZE="4"][COLOR="Black"]Go and Goggle San Francisco port schedule and you will find a complete schedule. The old terminal, pier 35, will only be used when there is more than one ship in port.

If you don't find your answer you can email them.

We sail November 14th and our itinerary specifically says we embark at Pier 27. I didn't really have any problems embarking at Pier 35. It was disembarking there that was a huge pain in the neck. It was a complete madhouse and the traffic situation was beyond belief.

Yup. Been there, done that. Customs took forever. Pax for the next cruise were lined up on the pier while we were still waiting on board to be cleared from the last. Cabs and busses were in gridlock waiting for us.

Hopefully Pier 27 will be a long-overdue improvement!

Check with cruisett.com. There are no days with 2 ships in port in San Francisco so it is very likely you will be using Pier 27 in January 2015.

Here is the most recent (updated July 23) SF 2014 cruise schedule, where you can see which ship is what which pier on what date(s).

[url]http://www.sfport.com/index.aspx?page=2288[/url]

Also, the port has now published the 2015 cruise schedule, however pier assignments are not yet listed:

[quote name='iceleven']I'd be happy with an occasional SF to Vancouver or Victoria RT with a day in Seattle and a port in Oregon. Make it as long as they like because I love sea days.

SF, Seattle, and Vancouver are all excellent destination/port cities loaded with culture and exciting things to do. Perhaps not so much for west coast natives where these cities are easily available but I believe plenty of east coast people would love to be able to explore each of these cities in one vacation week. Even Vancouverites(?), with a huge population, would be happy to explore the lower 49 occasionally.

.[/quote]

YES!!! I would love to have some cruises to Vancouver and Victoria that are round trip from SF. My problem is that the cruises there only go one way. If there were round trip cruises I'd be really happy. I love sea days and both Vancouver and Victoria are great places to visit.

As for the folks from Vancouver visiting the U.S. I spoke with some folks there who loved to come to the U.S. even if it was only to have the chance to purchase booze at roughly half the price they pay at home. ;) Edited by Thrak

Our trip in September that is RT from Vancouver on GrNd Princess is excellent for west coasters. It goes from Vancouver to Victoria, then to San Francisco, then to Santa Barbara, Catalina Island, Los Angeles, and returns to Vancouver. Unfortunately, it is a one-off and will not be repeated until the following year in April and September.

[quote name='Vette Gal']We are schedule to embark from pier 27 in December.

Can anyone advise us as to where the best long term parking is?[/QUOTE]

The parking situation is bad in that part of SF, but IIRC there was a poster on a recent thread that did know of a good long-term garage. I couldn't locate the post on a quick CC search, but hopefully someone will have the link.

If bad comes to worse, you can always park at an SFO long-term lot and take a cab, but it would be a $$ cab ride, as the airport is south of the city itself. I have done this when I needed to be in a part of SF where I knew parking would be impossible.

Are you thinking of 55 Francisco? It's just a little over a block to Pier 35, but wouldn't be too bad to 27.

[quote name='geocruiser']Thanks for posting the photos. It looks like it is going to be beautiful.[/quote]

I like your animated fish signature and there is a cute one with a dog. I have no problem inserting them into my website but how do you put them in your signature. HTML does not work and I can't figure out how to do it with BBCode.

We will be cruising out of the new terminal in November. Since we are staying both before and after in a hotel, we only need taxi or mass transit. We boarded the Island on the last day of the America's Cup and saw the terminal from our balcony then being used by the America's Cup race. The Oracle sponsored boat won. We are looking forward to seeing the new terminal and spending a few days in our favorite city.

55 Francisco has quoted me $18 per day plus a $2 fee. My upcoming 10 day cruise is quoted at $200 for parking.
