TeaBag Posted June 14, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2014 Yes, we used the lounge on Solstice 1 month ago.
A Sixth? Posted June 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) Are there still ships using the Elite lounge or have they all switched to vouchers? Been an Elite Lounge every cruise we've been on, Summit B2B January this year, and last June 14 day Med on the Equinox the most recent. But if there are LOTs of Elites they apparently have vouchers. We were told by the Captns Club lady that the vouchers all the time didn't go over well and a move to them was scrapped the end of last year. Experiment failed. Edited June 14, 2014 by A Sixth? harz99 Posted June 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 14, 2014 yes, still number dependent. Not just numbers, can also be because Park West or any other organisation has hired the Constellation (or equivalent) lounge, at the time required for the Elite event:(. WestLakeGirl Posted June 14, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) Vouchers also come into play when the ship is near scenic areas, Antarctica, New Zealand Sounds, Alaska. So all will have access to viewing areas Edited June 14, 2014 by WestLakeGirl
cle-guy Posted June 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 14, 2014 We had vouchers on my Eclipse TA April 20-May 2, but had the SkyLounge on Summit to Bermuda May 25-June 1. Still dependent on how many on a cruise it seems.
ECCruise Posted June 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 14, 2014 Vouchers also come into play when the ship is near scenic areas, Antarctica, New Zealand Sounds, Alaska. So all will have access to viewing areas That is a definite factor. Even though there were not many Elite and above on our Norwegian Fjords cruise, they used vouchers for exactly that reason. Rare ghstudio Posted June 15, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 15, 2014 We were on the first ship to try the vouchers...a transatlantic on the eclipse. One of the interesting findings, although not surprising, was that dining room revenue for wine dropped. Folks were using the vouchers to bring a glass of wine to dinner and not buying wine. (yes, we were guilty of this shameless act...and for two vouchers you could get a very full glass to bring in :) ). Since vouchers apparently cost Celebrity lost revenue, it's unlikely that they will beome the standard except where needed for logistical reasons. True, and they will continue to be employed on the TA's when there are 1,000 + Elites on board.
alcpa1 Posted June 15, 2014 #12 Share Posted June 15, 2014 We certainly missed the Constellation lounge on our May 12 Infinity cruise. Park West was entertaining about 80 of their primo customers almost every evening. We didn't enjoy the vouchers...much prefer the wonderful Elite gatherings. Every other lounge and bar on board was filled to capacity with standing room only.

After all you can only use each voucher once, so unlike say, extending the Elite gathering which would result in increased consumption and cost, that is a no cost option and a win-win situation. Still, what do we know....................
harz99 Posted June 15, 2014 #14 Share Posted June 15, 2014 Even with vouchers, a lot of people still go to the lounge to use them. Count us as two whom are in that group:D.
buffetking Posted June 15, 2014 #15 Share Posted June 15, 2014 Just finished getting home from Reflection Med cruise. Elites could use Sky View lounge everyday from 5 to 7pm, except the day when the officers elite cocktail party was presented. Elites also had a private breakfast area each morning in the Tuscan Grille from 7 to 9am. Nice, with smoothies.
CRUZBUDS Posted June 15, 2014 #16 Share Posted June 15, 2014 Elites also had a private breakfast area each morning in the Tuscan Grille from 7 to 9am. Nice, with smoothies. Did they change the hours from 8-10 to 7-9?
Wine-O Posted June 15, 2014 #17 Share Posted June 15, 2014 Did they change the hours from 8-10 to 7-9? We were on Constellation TA this past April, and although they had coupons, the evening Elite event was from 4:30 to 7:00pm. The morning was still 8 to 10am.
