tips/gratuties for non ncl excursions

we are a party of 4 with two excursions planned- a snorkeling adventure ( about 6 hours long) and a helicopter tour. what would be an expected tip for each- i was thinking $20 for the helicopter and $20 for the snorkeling. thanks

We usually tip between 10-20% depending on how satisfied we are with the tour.

We don't tip percentages on excursions....I think your $20 per (if warranted!) is fine. There are no guidelines for tipping tour guides. It's up to you and your perceived value.

Base your final amount on the quality of the tour.

We also do not tip by percentage ... and *usually* just tip between $5-10 per person for my family of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids) ... depending on the length and quality of the tour + tour guide ;)

 

However ... we have tipped in excess if the owner/guide goes well *above and beyond* our requests and expectations ... to give us the *best* shore excursion we've ever had ... as Levi did in Dominica for us :)
