Mard940 Posted June 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2014 we are a party of 4 with two excursions planned- a snorkeling adventure ( about 6 hours long) and a helicopter tour. what would be an expected tip for each- i was thinking $20 for the helicopter and $20 for the snorkeling. thanks

cb at sea Posted June 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2014 We don't tip percentages on excursions....I think your $20 per (if warranted!) is fine. There are no guidelines for tipping tour guides. It's up to you and your perceived value.
Rare Keith1010 Posted June 17, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2014 $20.00 sounds fine. Base your final amount on the quality of the tour. Have a great time. Keith
chiapet Posted June 17, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2014 We also do not tip by percentage ... and *usually* just tip between $5-10 per person for my family of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids) ... depending on the length and quality of the tour + tour guide ;) However ... we have tipped in excess if the owner/guide goes well *above and beyond* our requests and expectations ... to give us the *best* shore excursion we've ever had ... as Levi did in Dominica for us :)
