We have 32 total.

 

I do trivia, the DW does about every other game there is (win, loose draw, scavengar hunt, game show mania, mixology) and the kids (there are two) usually get one each. We even got a SOAS one trip becuase she painted my nails with the Del Sol polish and I had to wear it all week. (My daughter was 5 at the time and thought it was a riot). The tooth failry brought two when both kids lost front teeth on a cruise.

 

DW is usually ready to kill me as I give them away on the ship, if she is not around.

 

I think she believes they are made of real gold.

About nine ships. Most were won in games other than answering questions.

Did not stop the peeps on our last Breeze cruise, but in the Red Frog Pub you do get a big ol' fish bowl drink....which they did share with us.

Out of 30 cruises, I've only won 2 SOAS and 4 medallions. You'd think I'd remember trivia answers from ship to ship since a lot of the questions are the same, especially on back to backs. I'll just keep cruising until I win more. LOL:D:D

Wow, I had a crazy dream last night that I didn't come home from our cruise with a SoaS.

 

We are sailing the 13 day Legend cruise soon. But this thread must have embedded itself into my sleep. In my dream, we were sitting in the airport when I suddenly realized that we didn't play any trivia at all on the cruise. I did not win a Ship on a Stick. All we did was sunbathe for 13 days. I literally woke up with a start.

 

I now have a mission to play every trivia game on Legend until I win ONE, just ONE Ship on a Stick!!! :eek: (This should be my worst problem...)

We got our first one on our last cruise on the Dream - my hubby won the cartoon trivia game.. LOL.. We thought it was funny -- the gal running the game was way too young to even know some of the cartoons she was asking questions about and my husband was probably the oldest passenger playing and ended up with the most correct answers... :D

26 ships, 14 medals. I give away 2 or 3 ship every trip.

We play everything -- trivia, Scrabble, board games, anything but the scavenger hunts... We often help the hunters looking for a 'right flip flop', a hairy back, a logo item, a casino chip, etc. (They always bring them back)

 

There are often multiple SOAS at the board games. On our last cruise we split up to play Scrabble at different tables and won 3 of the 4 in the room.

 

If you want to EARN your own SOAS, look in the fun times for games in the library or lounge during the day. Lots less competition!

 

Otherwise, look on EBay... where I've sold many. Only one (first cruise) is on display in the house.

I've only gotten them on the last two ships I was on, the Breeze and Victory. I won 8 or 9 between the 2 ships but gave some away to fellow cruisers and took one to one of my work places (I work in ocean shipping :p )

 

I have never won any of the medals though.....

I have 38, 24 caret gold, plastic, pieces of ship on a stick, and countless medals. I've received almost all of 'em for singing in the "Legends Show", and the "Showcase of Stars". They're displayed in a BIG cabinet in my living room. I'm very proud of them, but am running out of space! :eek:

We have 13, one from each of our 13 Carnival cruises.

 

I admit that I am obsessed at winning the coveted 24 carat gold plastic ship on a stick. But as soon as I do win the one, I'm done. I don't need more than that, plus I want to give others the opportunity to bring home the cherished prize.

I agree, one is enough. If I get more than one I give them to the runner up etc.

It is so nice that you do that. On our last cruise there were a couple of male cruisers who were at EVERY trivia and they won every time. I would see them leaving trivia areas with three or four in hand. I only wanted to win one. Definitely put a bad taste in my mouth for trivia.

I have been on ships where the same people won day after day. They arrive even with a clipboard (with the answers?)and have great pleasure collecting all the SOAS. On one cruise with them the hosts did say only a ship for first time winners and that gave others a chance.

LOL, the ex-military comment and the poster above me made me laugh! :D My Mom used to use that term for that "food".

• My son won his at an ice cream eating contest on our first cruise abord the Inspiration.

I have one medal from being in the skit Robin Hood in 2005 on the Glory. It was outrageous fun. It happened on maybe Day2 and I was a rockstar the rest of the cruise. I still have the DVD. (6'3" Maid Marion)

I have an obsession with trivia. I go to every game. I win more than lose but after winning once, I subsequently give the SOAS to the second place person. I have almost 20 different SOASs, collected from 20 ships. I probably need only 5-6 to complete my set. I will be going on 2 different ships in the upcoming months and hope to bring home 1 from each.

 

I too believe that 1 is enough. BTW, one says Tournament Champion, I won the slot tournament and received a SOAS as well as $500 and a Tshirt.
