On Board Credit

Recommended Posts

It depends. Any OBC that you get from Royal caribbean is non refundable from my understanding. Any OBC you get from a Travel agent or you pre purchase from Gifts and Gear deparment you can "cash out" at Guest Services on the last night of the cruise.

If you have non refundable OBC I think you can draw it out from the casino for a 5% fee though.

Someone can and will correct me if Im wrong :)

Like Ryano said any OBC from RCL is nonrefundable. They use the non refundable first.

And yes you can take it out at the casino for a 5% charge.

You can get any other OBC back in cash on the last day or they will credit it back to whatever card you used at checkin.

Hope I am typing faster than Bob:)

hoping you might be able to answer this question also, i have looked for the answer and it doesnt seem that this exact question is out there (to my knowledge) .... I had a gift cert. i went online posted to my reservation as obc, called rccl to get confirmation, she sent me an email showing 500.00 obc, problem is >> it went on my friends name (she is listed 1st on room), they said i could just fix it once on board, which seems like a HUGE pain in the ___. >>>DOES ANY ONE KNOW, IF I JUST GOT A DIFFICULT OPERATOR AND NEED TO CALL BACK OR IS FIXING ON BOARD MY ONLY OPTION.... ps my friend is NOT interested in keeping obc and just giving me the difference, she is not drinker.

You can try calling back & see what the next operator says...also call the C&A # direct..they seem to be more helpful...but if that fails, it's not a big deal to get it switched over onboard...happened to me one time...my OBC from Visa points was split between my roomate & I...Guest Services was able to fix it right away...

Hi, hope you guys can help me.. I am sure you can. We are scheduled to go on a cruise next month and have various on board credits - RCI, a gift certificate and a future cruise credit. Is there anyway I can check on line to be sure they all hit my account, or should I call and talk to an agent directly?

Thanks so much.

First always bring with you written proof that you are entitled to those OBC. Since OBC is posted the first night out, on the second day take your proof to Guest Services and ask for a copy of your bill...that way if there is a discrepancy you can have it fixed then. On ships with account access on the TV, you may also check your account there, as a fact, we do so daily so as to catch "errors" quickly. If there is an error (like OBC not posted), then go to guest services with your proof. From experience, without that proof, you begin an uphill struggle. There is no way to do this online before you are onboard. Also from experience, suggest you not rely on telephone with RCCL prior to boarding (They may not have the updated account info you need).

RCI: Do you mean that RCI told you at the time of booking that you would receive OBC? like, from booking on board?

That will be on your official RC invoice. If you don't have it, call and ask to have it sent.

A gift certificate? Do you mean that you purchased it for yourself or that someone gave it to you and you called and activated it and they told you that it would be on your account when you sail?

You should get a confirmation email and print it out and take it with you.

A future cruise credit? Do you mean that you had a problem on a previous cruise and they issued you a certificate that you are using on this cruise?

You should have used it to apply to your cruise fare.

:)

1. Our travel agent advised us that we are entitled to $275 OBC for this upcoming cruise we booked.

2. Someone gave us a gift certificate, that we sent all the info to our travel agent and believed he activated??

3. Also, we had booked an open cruise on our last RCCL cruise that we are using for this cruise. I believe it is $100 OBC.

I would just like to confirm they are all in place and really hope I can do that prior to sailing.

Thanks for all your help.

Any OBC from Royal can be seen on Royal's Guest Copy of your booking confirmation. You must ask your travel agent for this document.

Any OBC from your travel agent is between you and the agent.
