Rare arxcards Posted October 2 #6026 Share Posted October 2 9 hours ago, Freyta said: Okay thanks. Sorry, I'm a cruise newbie ! What do you guys consider good prices? I'll keep an eye out if I find them. Also how do you prefer deals posted? Something like "Melbourne - Sydney (x1234) $200/$100p/n"? Most of us love a good deal. The long running topic of "El-Cheapo" is about sharing something that is pretty much a clearance price, as well as any general cruise line "sale" promotions. Traditionally el-cheapo is below $100pp per night twin, and should be deals that are generally available, and not insider or casino pricing. Check back over the few pages and see what is being posted by others. Just knowing the ship and departure date is all anyone here needs to suss out the deal via the cruise line website or their own preferred travel agent. Using terms like X1234 is speaking in travel agent language, which reads as somewhat strange when being used by a new member/cruiser. In my opinion a cruise that the price has dropped a significant amount from the launch price is a bargain. For example Island Princess Feb 16, 2025 Sydney to Cape Town 21 days from $2486 For a sector of the World cruise that is a bargain as they are usually around $300 a day including the Crew Appreciation Payment. Of course the one above doesn't include the CAP as it is part of the WC leaving from the USA. While not everyone's cup of tea as airfares have to be added there maybe some people who wanted to go to South Africa to visit family or take a holiday.

Always glad to have new cruisers join us here. On 10/2/2024 at 12:06 PM, Freyta said: Also how do you prefer deals posted? To make the deals easy to find without naming travel agents it is good to list the ship, the date and where it is going eg Sydney to Melbourne or Sydney round trip. You can list how much a day if you wish or you can state the number of days and the cost. As Axcards said look over a few pages of the thread to get a feel for it. Happy cruise bargain hunting.😄

resordanis Posted October 7 #6031 Share Posted October 7 I think I might finally have a cheap fare for some. Crown Princess South Pacific cruise 3rd December 11 nights to South Pacific $1898 for a balcony. Considering the prices of Princess cruises atm, I did think this one was tempting. If only Princess would tell us where they were going instead of Noumea and Lifou, I would be more interested. 3

Lots of cruisers are giving it the same consideration, and aren't interested in paying full price.
CDaze71 Posted October 9 #6034 Share Posted October 9 (edited) Here's some cheapies on what will be Carnival Adventure for next year. Under $100 pp/pd. Look at the mini suite prices. 10 nighter is the best deal, $110pp/pn for a twin mini suite. $80 pp/pn for a twin interior. Rare arxcards Posted October 9 #6035 Share Posted October 9 So many are reluctant to try the P&O/Carnival blend and sitting back waiting for others to try it out first. Seems about the right price to guess what your ports will end up being and what the hybrid experience will be like. To note, that pricing is "GO fare" which is for guarantee cabin & non-refundable deposits. Value fare is a bit more expensive but is largely offset with OBC and gives you cabin choice. For the daily price of an inside though, you would struggle to get 3 meals at Maccas.

Did think twice about the other 2 Carnival ships in our region with cruisers describing the decor. How bad could it be during a freezing Melbourne winter?

If so, it won’t bother me re not going to NC or anywhere. We were on Ovation in 2022 and went nowhere! Anyway when he gives me an answer I might book.
