Quote - Cruisegal,

This is great news. I was really looking forward to doing this but I'd read somewhere that it wasn't being offered until November so I was disappointed. Do you remember how/where you signed up to do this?

Michelle

Here is what the daily had about the Winemaker Experience

Taste - Blend - Create your own custom bottle of wine! Join our winemaker as he/she guides you through the art of wine blending. The wine blending experience lasts approx. 90 minutes. Reservations are required and space is limited. Call **** to reserve yoiur space.

Pricing: Corkage fee $8

Session: $15pp or $25pcouple

Bottle prices: 1=$25 (and prices go down the more you order)

1pm & 4pm, La Cantina di Bacco, Deck 7

Mike, they do not teach you how to make wine but how to blend different wines to make one you like. It was a fun time but once was enough.

It was held on the first day at sea and again later in the cruise.

Hi Cruisergirl,

Thank you so much for that info. Is this something that should be signed up for once on board or beforehand? I'm curious why you said once was enough (not that I want to do it more than one time but I'm hoping it's as fun as they make it sound).

TIA,

Michelle

You see Aussie,,,you didn't get the whole story about the bar service in the casino. There is bar service at the tables, just not the slots,,,seemed the more I started to win playing blackjack,,the more often the server came by to take my order;);)

Instead of the Nutella crepes Aussie,,grab some gelato, and see if the kitchen can warm you up some Nutella in the microwave and pour it over your gelato like chocolate syrup!!! Go big or go home I always say!!!

Well thank goodness, my liver and bank account my not thank you, but I do ...:D:D

Ok and you twisted my arm on the gelato with melted nutella...........wth I'll just do some extra walking......to the bar and back...............

NO! NO! NO!

Time to stock up!

A Nutella shortage may be on the horizon thanks to a March frost in Turkey that wiped out about 70 percent of this year’s hazelnut crop.

Hazelnut prices have skyrocketed, hitting a 10-year-high and causing many to worry that prices will only continue to increase with the impending shortage.

That’s bad news for Nutella lovers, as one 13-ounce jar of the coma-inducing cocoa spread is packed with 50 hazelnuts.

Ferrero, the Italian chocolatier that produces Nutella, is the largest consumer of hazelnuts. The company acquired the Turkish hazelnut supplier Oltan Group in July to “guarantee and further improve the quality of a leading raw material that gives a unique taste” to its products, Ferrero said in a press release.

It is unclear how the price of Nutella and other hazelnut-ridden products will be affected by the shortage.

Oh No!!!!! Well,, it's a good thing I switched from International Delight's Hazelnut coffee creamer, to Southern Butter Pecan a few years back!!! No Pecan shortages in Georgia!!!

Casanova02,,,You'll want to ask the Maitre'D once you arrive at your assigned dining room. I will say though,,I've heard that tables for two are hard to come by,,so best bet is to get there early on the first day, and speak with your Maitre'D. You might get lucky!!!

Mike, Gambee has started posting things on his blog and something jumped out at me. The daily says you have to activate your credit card to be used internationally because it will be processed through France. Have you had to do anything different?

Hi Maureen,

I just called my cc company to let them know I would be out of the country (the dates and locations) just to be sure they didn't deny usage, as we recently had someone try to "steal" our cc info and had to get new cards. With fraud being such a problem of late, I wanted to make sure they knew it was me trying to use it in a different country. Not sure if that's what you were asking about but thought I'd chime in :D

Michelle

P.S. I'll try not to eat all the NUTELLA ;)

You're leaving tomorrow! WOOT WOOT!

So glad that system that was developing and looked to be headed toward the Caribbean, has decided to take a NE turn!

Have a wonderful cruise!

Michelle~

Yes we are FLAMOM24!!!! Finally!!!! I've been watching that storm, and they say it's supposed to go over Puerto Rico tonight and Hispanola and the SouthEastern Bahamas tomorrow. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing,,but wouldn't mind a slightly bumpy ride either ;)

I've visited Australia and can attest to this. My Aussie friends can drink way more then I can. I mean who drinks bottles of wine with no label?? Aussies do! Clean skins are a wonderful thing!! 😃

Hi Mike,

We will be in the Yacht club in a few weeks and would like to give the people who look after us a gift from Scotland but not sure how many we will need do you know how it works with the butlers, room stewards and waiters will we have a few different ones that take care of us or the same ones all the time we are doing the b2b. Also there are 9 of us travelling do you know if they will be able to seat us together at Dinner

Enjoy your cruise looking forward to lots of pictures from the Yacht Club.

Judith :)
