Arubababe52 Posted August 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2014 Is the casino closed when we're in port? Just wondering since we leave a couple ports at 11:00 pm. Can anyone tell me what table games they have on the Nieuw Amsterdam? Sent from my iPad using Forums
sail7seas Posted August 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2014 (edited) Casino will be closed while the ship is in port. The only way it will open is if the port gives permission which has happened in Curacao for HAL ship. Of course, that is a 'nod' the Dutch Holland America Line. :) Edited August 19, 2014 by sail7seas
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2014 Sorry -- but you will find that the Casino will be closed until the ship leaves port on Med cruises.

jtl513 Posted August 20, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) They usually open about one hour after departing the port. Usually 1/2 hour ... just long enough to get into international waters, 12 nm out.. Edited August 20, 2014 by jtl513

Probably shouldn't say this, but I have noticed that the harbour pilot departing the ship tends to be the defining moment. At least once I've noticed that we were no way 12 miles out before the casino stuff was switched on.
