Casino in Mediterranean

Is the casino closed when we're in port? Just wondering since we leave a couple ports at 11:00 pm. Can anyone tell me what table games they have on the Nieuw Amsterdam?

Casino will be closed while the ship is in port.

The only way it will open is if the port gives permission which has happened in Curacao for HAL ship. Of course, that is a 'nod' the Dutch Holland America Line. :)

Sorry -- but you will find that the Casino will be closed until the ship leaves port on Med cruises.

They also have a "Let it Ride" & "Three Card" poker table and Texas Hold'Em table.....I remember. Maybe a Caribbean Stud poker table too.

Usually 1/2 hour ... just long enough to get into international waters, 12 nm out.

Probably shouldn't say this, but I have noticed that the harbour pilot departing the ship tends to be the defining moment. At least once I've noticed that we were no way 12 miles out before the casino stuff was switched on.

Maybe the pilot stayed on board longer than normal? Who knows - who really cares?
