SRQfireman Posted August 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) They're going to have robotic bartenders on board (I assume just one bar) You can electronically enter your drink you want, and it will make it and serve it to you.....here's the video on it Richard Fain also announced today that he will be giving EVERY employee of Royal Caribbean......about 40,000 of them !!! He says this way they can keep in touch with family members while being away from them. The Quantum is going to have super fast internet that will allow Skype......Facetime ....etc for both the crew and the passengers. He also talked about that new entertainment space (Two70).....it will have six 100" robotic TV's that can move all around creating different effects. Apparently all the windows in that area are able to be like video screens where the walls can be like an aquarium with fish swimming around......or they can make the are into like a cityscape of New York City or something like that......truly amazing This is just a part of what was revealed today.........OMG !!!!!!! Here's more of that reveal today I meant to add Edited August 25, 2014 by SRQfireman

bouhunter Posted August 25, 2014 #14 Share Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) Before they spend time and money on robot bartenders and other worthless tech they should work on a website and reservation system that works:rolleyes: With their track record on technology, I'd probably order a rum and coke and by the time received, it would be cancelled, re-ordered, re-priced, and show up a hot chocolate.......... Indy_Girl46 Posted August 25, 2014 #15 Share Posted August 25, 2014 He said you can get the robots to tailor your drink, so if you want a little more of something in it, you can order that. Can't wait to order from a robot - what a bizarre feeling that will be. So excited about the whole cruise. It will be a cruise experience like no other ! Rare whitshel Posted August 26, 2014 #19 Share Posted August 26, 2014 You know guys there is always Carnival which pretty much doesn't innovate at all. Same ships, nothing new just the same o same o. I think its cool they are thinking outside the box.....JMHO
negc Posted August 26, 2014 #20 Share Posted August 26, 2014 As I understand it, robot bartenders will be in only one bar(lounge) on the ship and will be more of a novelty than anything else, and will have a certain entertainment value. In some ways it isn't much different from the Ice Bar on Epic and hardly anything to get worked up about. Even the video that includes info on the robot bartenders placed much more emphasis on the personal interaction with the ship's staff that makes sailing on RCI so special. SRQfireman Posted August 26, 2014 Author #22 Share Posted August 26, 2014 What is he giving to each RCCL employee? That'll teach me to not proof read, and then come back ages later..... duh........as mentioned, he's giving every employee a tablet.....pretty amazing (and a very nice gesture)......to be honest with ya, it'll be interesting to see what kind of "book" they'll have to sign in order to receive one......it'll have probably 100 different things you can and can't do with it........OR ELSE

This just allows RCI to market itself to a broader market to those who can't peel themselves away...literally.
Missbrightstar Posted August 26, 2014 #24 Share Posted August 26, 2014 I'm a 30-something and I love technology. I love netflix, facebook, instagram etc but on a cruise I love being cut off and just accessing technology if I choose to. People should be socialising with friends and family and other guests not heads buried into their screens. We can do all the teccy stuff at home
