espo56 Posted September 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2014 Can someone please advise if you can wear nice jeans in the Main Dining a Room on the Summit. Tried searching but there is too much stuff on dress code to find a simple answer. Yes or no answer please for casual nights only.
Sloop-JohnB Posted September 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) Yes. A few years ago Celebrity recognized Jeans as Smart Casual Wear as long as they are not Ripped / Frayed. Those who choose to wear Jeans usually pick Black or a Dark Wash... But this not a requirement. For more info on The Celebrity Dress Code see the FAQs page on their website... "What is the Onboard Dress Code" http://www.celebritycruises.com/frequently-asked-questions Cheers! NLH Arizona Posted September 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2014 Yes, you can wear jeans. I've seen them in both lighter and darker colors. Celebrity does ask that you not wear worn or ripped jeans, even though on my last cruise a young lady came in ripped jeans and had no problem getting into the MDR. cb at sea Posted September 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2014 Jeans are but denim slacks...they are fine on casual nights. Overalls might be made of denim, but they are NOT jeans!
Theodorable Posted September 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) I love jeans and am definitely taking a pair for our cruise in October. Lots of tops go with them. Wear some fancy shoes and you can look great. They are comfy and forgiving if you put on some weight with all the lovely food! Mine are light wash but no rips or holes...too old for that. Off topic, I have just been watching Outlander on TV and feel a bit homesick for Scotland....even after spending 30 years trying to get away from there :=) Edited September 2, 2014 by Theodorable
NorthernLite Posted September 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 2, 2014 Yes, I wear white jeans from Chicos, J.Jill, etc in the Caribbean all the time on casual nights. Add a nice top, jewelry and sandals or I have a great pair of white kidskin loafers to go with them. Never been a problem and dark wash works even in Europe. Hey, I've got some Scottish blood in me!

However if they vote Yes to Independence from the rest of the UK on the 18th September they can only wear kilts from that point forward ;)

Nebr.cruiser Posted September 2, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 2, 2014 OMG, I remember demin suits back in the early 70's. Make it a dark denim 'leisure suit' and you'll be all set. Remember those?

Jessejo Posted September 2, 2014 #15 Share Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) Make it a dark denim 'leisure suit' and you'll be all set. Remember those? On the plane home from our Solstice cruise last week I sat next to a guy in a jade green leisure suit - the jacket was like an Ike jacket (remember those?) There were several folks in the MDR wearing jeans. On formal night one table mate wore a short sleeved plaid shirt with his cotton pants - his wife wore a long sleeved striped t-shirt... Double eek!!!
