Casino Program Changes

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been able to have their booking made in CAD $ using the CR benefits? I have a discount I can apply to a future cruise but it must be booked through CR in USD which offsets many currency exchange benefits I can get with a CAD $ booking. It would be nice to have the booking in CAD so I can also take advantage of those benefits.

The alternative thought might be. (based on your onboard spending) asking if you can have it posted to your on board account, or as cash in the casino. (as the current or should I say past cr program allowed for). then use that cash for your drink package, specialty rest. or whatever... I know it doesnt lessen the cost of the cruise itself, but it could very well pay for the other things. Assuming under the "new" program they will let you do that.

I don't receive their emails either.

I called them today after Graham's email and we're taking them up on their free offer. The balcony cabins they are offering are for Central Park and Boardwalk. I paid to upgrade and will receive double points for a JS. For us it was a very good deal :)

Thank you to Graham, please keep us updated on future changes.

We don't get the emails either!

Haven't in a couple years!

I dont receive the emails either. I have told them many times. However, when I book a cruise through CR I do get those emails.. Just not the "marketing" ones with the offers. I either call in or I sometimes get a hard print in the mail. But... I have never received one email from them discussing the changes or postponement of the new program.

Mr or Mrs Bear,

As Linda quoted everything I receive from CR will be posted on here for those who, for whatever reason do not get the offers, changes free cruise mail.

I am just the messenger and have no idea why certain people do not receive the mail from RC.

Although I do have some good contacts;)

For some CR friends;), I forward the emails I receive onto them

If you wish and post your email, any new correspondence I get from RC CR I will gladly fwd to you:D

This can also include offers from Celebrity as well

Happy Days!

Hey Pompey...

If you are a member of CR but have never sailed celebrity do they match the Casino offers, or do you have to sail celebrity first to be tracked? Thanks for the information.

I was a Celebrity Blue Chip Club member first. I asked as soon as I got on board and it was NOT automatic. I had to be tracked. But you CAN have your RCI rebate applied for cash on your Celebrity cruise and vice versa (unless the Casino Program Changes eliminate that).

thank you. was your rebate available for cash in the casino, or just as a reduction in cruise fare?

I took it for cash in the casino.

But I don't think one is necessarily exclusive of the other. On my April cruise I got an AMAZING deal on a GS b/c that's one of the categories the casino was discounting. And I get my cash rebate.

I'll ask DW as she has been on way more X cruises than I have, just 1 for me and that was over 14 years ago, before I gambled.

I had never set foot in a casino before I met my wife, she led me astray:)

She is a casino member on X Fortunes

Happy Days!

Hi Graham

I would love to get emails from you, regarding CR :)

HEARTLCRC at AOL dot com

To the others who have not received CR emails. I spoke to D+ the other day, even though CR does have my correct email and told D+ that I do not receive any emails from them and receive at least 2 from Celebrity weekly which we have not been on in a few years. They checked their records and advised me they had 5 different email addresses of file for me. They claimed this is why I have not received anything from them.

I've only had 2 different email addresses in my life. They deleted the incorrect email addresses and said I should now be receiving emails. Maybe that could be the reason why no emails from RCI & CR

Kudos to Graham for advising us of CR offers :)

Crash the party and let us know what they do :)

Some people are lucky enough to get invites for some of these events for FREE. Orherwise u can just book thru CR and you can participate. BBQ Beach Bash is the best one

You're going to need to give me the location of the beach bash on 12/11 for me to crash it :P Apparently I'm not eligible for an invite even though it's open to all CR members because my cruise is booked through a TA and not directly through CR. I booked early last year before the schedule for this year came out. They adjusted my cruise fare to the casino rate and were willing to set up a credit line for the trip but somehow an invite to the CR parties isn't possible. I'm not giving up a coupla hundred bucks in OBC so that I can get those invites.

That's odd. I would try calling again and ask for a supervisor. If that doesn't work, I would meet with casino host on Day 1 and ask.

  • 3 weeks later...

I spoke with the casino host on Oasis the end of March. He has not received anything official yet about the new program. Evidently the person in charge of th new program is no longer with the company. He thinks they are going to a numbered tier system, but that would be speculation. He did receive word that they should have more information in April or May.

After receiving a comp. cruise on Allure last month, as as someone who routinely gets $300-350 cash rebates each cruise, I was extremely surprised CR told me yesterday I didn't "qualify" to participate in the BBQ Beach Bash in Cozumel at this time. I'm just talking the event itself, not a comp cruise! Wow. That's about a $55/pp value (comparing to Mr Sanchos or Nachi Coccum). I have no idea how I dont qualify for THAT... and this is after I pay for the cruise myself (at casino rate). Last year I was able to participate in this event after paying my own cruise fare so I'm kinda baffled. Also. I've been on 6-7 cruises since then and gamble each time. This program is so inconsistent. The only answer I got was they are raising the level to qualify for this event. Huh? For a $55/pp event??

As far as the new program they told me its pushed back to later this year, blah blah blah, maybe information will be available in a few months..:

I didn't really discuss the new program w/ the casino hostess this week (back from the Navigator today) but one cheapo thing was the comped drinks. As everyone knows from other threads on the RCI board, they've raised the prices a LOT on most drinks. In the past I got a sticker on my card and just ordered whatever drinks I wanted.

THIS time I got 5 comp tickets (I could have asked for more). I asked for a lemon drop and was told that the tickets only covered drinks up to $10 and the lemon drop was either $12 or $14.

Sheeeesh how cheap.

There was a sticker put on my card and I could have unlimited soda and water.

Uh oh!!

That is not good Sharon:(

This is how they repay loyalty:eek: guess this New program isn't going to be cut out to be what we expected.. No wonder they delayed a year.

Am looking forward to see if the missus is still able to get her Piña Coladas,

She ain't going to be a happy bunny if it's a no go.

No PC,s guess the money we would of dropped in the casino will pay for a cruise on NCL.

Hope you had a great cruise:)

Graham, another thing is if they rated based on the last year. My last cruise was in December and I just gambled less than usual, and the one a few months before that was the oil spill cruise where almost half the cruise was spent in port and the casino was closed. So perhaps I was dinged (though the smaller casino expenditure during the oil spill was a BIT out of my control.)

But I thought going back to the drink tickets and then putting such a low price allowance for the drinks allowed was kind of a disappointment. They USED to do that years ago on both RCI and Celebrity but both had gotten away from those chits. It will be interesting to see what Celebrity does in October.

I was on the Oasis sailing March 28. I stopped down to the casino the first day to meet the host. I was given the sticker on my card. I was told about the shows ( no waiting). I usually ordered mixed drinks or lemon drop martinis. I always tipped extra and never was charged extra.

Maybe it's on a per ship basis. I got a sticker on AL last month with no limits but on some ships I still get the 5 coupons and there is a limit.

I'm still pissed that they said I don't qualify to participate in the Cozumel Beach Bash. Wow a $55/pp value and I don't qualify? Yet I always get cash rebates of $300-350 each cruise. I don't get it.

Next month, I have good mind to go collect my $300 cage cash and not gamble at all
