Casino Program Changes

Recommended Posts

I have not sailed on with Royal in a couple of years - so I'm curious about their casino program, as it stands now.

Just got off the Solstice a week ago where we enjoyed a flat 20% discount on our suite thanks to their Blue Chip Club.

Looking a cruise this summer on the Freedom OTS and was curious if Club Royale extends the same kind of discount - that would be a savings of ~$1,000.

I doubt, at this point, that I have any $ left on the table in terms of cash rebates - but of course it's SATURDAY so I can't call Club Royal to find out any of this.

BTW - I do get several mailings each year from Club Royal for discounted sailings, tournaments and such ... so I suppose I'm a "member".

THANKS,

Tom

They do have casino rates for every sailing. Sometimes it's 20% off, sometimes less, and sometimes more if they mail out an invitation.

ALso sometimes they'll have a better rate on certain categories. Last time they had a great deal on a Grand Suite that was irresistible. Their deals on JS and balconies weren't nearly as deeply discounted.

If you do have Celebrity Blue Chip rebates, you can use them on RCI. THe programs aren't exactly reciprocal and you aren't automatically in one if you're in the other, but the rebates are transferrable to the other line.

Good to know.

Oddly, I was the ONLY person at the $25 BJ table the entire week on the Solstice. They said that was quite unusual. I know on the other 11 Celebrity cruises we've sailed on, there have always been a few players - often enough for multiple green/black chip tables.

Usually the only place that I'm (more often than not) the only person at the $25 table is on Carnival.

Question ... I know with my Blue Chip status that they automatically waive the service fee associated with chip purchases - saving me a trip to our cabin. Is that also the case with Club Royale ?

I was just thinking...

I really like the tangent this thread has taken with us sharing the offers we've received. With Club Royale being more of a secretive organization, not (yet) disclosing what perks and offers we may be entitled to, it's nice to get an idea of what others are receiving, especially when we may be missing emails from Club Royale/Royal Caribbean.

However, this thread was originally planned to discuss upcoming changes to the Club Royale program.

Might I suggest that we do continue to share our casino offers and maybe information about the perks we've received onboard, but in a separate thread?

Marc

Here is where we should be posting.

As suggested, I've started a new thread for received offers in the Cruise Casinos forum. I posted in there the offer I received for Club Royale's upcoming $20K Team Slot Tournament.

  • 3 weeks later...

So it looks like it's been a while since this thread has been active. Trying to generate some new discussion.

As everyone surely knows by now, the original "cut-off date" of March 15 was withdrawn and the new program - whatever it will end up being - has been indefinitely delayed. As far as I know nobody lost their cash rebates (we certainly did not) and they are still bestowing both cash rebates and cruise fare discounts.

The fact that this thread has been dormant for so long leads me to believe that there has not been any new information...so I guess I know as much as anyone at this point.

I just responded to your other post in this forum. And yes, we also have not heard anything on when these new benefits will be rolling out with tier levels. The rebate will still be in effect up until March 15 2016.

As some of you already know, one of the changes already being rolled out is they are now giving free cruise certificates right there on the cruise to members who are playing enough to qualify for that benedit. Depending on the play, it could be for a free cruise in an inside, Oceanview, balcony....it has to be used in the next quarter after issuing.

To answer how much you need to play, they want to see $25/bet for roulette and 3 hrs play per night. BJ is $50/bet I believe and play time may be less than for roulette . I'm not sure about slots, but $5/bet and some amount of those are required. It might be a few hours per day to get there. The exact formula is unknown but a friend recently qualified playing slots, on the 3rd day after playing $5/bet for a couple hours per day

Casino Royale extended their Promotion for a year which ends March 31, 2016. Blackjack is $50.00 bet and Slot play is 300 points per day. You use your Sea Pass card to earn the points. If it is a 10 night cruise you need 3000 points.

After a few discussions with Casino Royale rep and reading these boards I am a bit confused. For my January cruise on Quantum I received a rebate from CR and used it on my June Liberty cruise. Now, back from the Liberty, I am NOT receiving any rebate at all. The rate I booked at for next year's Anthem cruise is not nearly as good as the previous CR rates on suites. And yes, I did receive a free cruise certificate on Liberty for specific cruises on specific dates for a balcony room. So if I'm not receiving any type of rebate and a higher than usual rate for my 2016 Anthem cruise, we are dealing with a mystery as to what to expect in the future in the meantime.....doesn't sound like too good of a bet to me...

I have posted this in other forums and there seems to be some difference of opinoins ( probably since they really have not figured out exactly how the new program is going to work yet)

It was explained to me the following

1. the free cruises that they offer you on board are INSTEAD of taking a rebate. It's an either or, ( as they explained it to me) and thats why you have not seen a rebate for your january cruise. The free cruise is a great deal if say you only earned a $400 rebate.. for big players, the certificate does not really make much sense.

2. if you choose not to take the free cruise, then you will get whatever rebate you have earned. In my case my rebate was over 2500.00 so a free cruise did not make any sense.. especially since my level of play was so high that club royale (when I called them) would give me the cruise offer anyway.

Of course the program seems to be in a constant state of flux, but thats how they explained it to me when I was on the allure in march.

for reference I played about 4 hours per day averaging $150.00 per hand in roulette

I also play roulette (almost exclusively). I'm just curious, on an average spin, do u play the outsides or spread it across several numbers inside? I.e, what's your typical betting strategy?

I am booked on Anthem in Feb 2016. When I called asking about a casino discount, it was pretty much non existant. Our OBC for booking on board was bigger. The CR rep said it's because it's a new ship and they don't have as many cabins to use for CR. The line has no problem filling her. It did make sense.

Judging from my previous rebates, this past June's cruise on Liberty would normally have been around $2,000 or so. Instead, I was offered a free cruise certificate for specific dates and ships. When I told CR rep I could not use that due to dates and points of departure, they basically said it was of no help to me and could not be used toward my already booked Anthem cruise in 2016. It seems you get different answers from different CR reps and they appear to be confused as I am. My friend, who was on the same sailing with me, received a free cruise certificate for specific cruises in a very limited number. I think her list included 10 dates, whereas mine had 30 dates. When she called CR, she was told, they could 'work something out' HUH???

Confused again..

Yeah. Like I said and like most of us have discovered. All things club royals seem to change daily and also depends who you talk to. I spoke to five different people asking the same question about cabin availability and on the 5th try she said. Oh we have plenty of sites they just didn't check the right list.

Hi, How much is 1 point on a slot machine?

Thanks in advance.

On our last cruise I had 5000 slot points and redeem for the $150 cash back. The cage people seemed flabbergasted that I had so many. The penny machines I normally play have a max bet of $1.50. One has a $5.00 max bet. ( but I have to trust the machine has been good to me or have a lot of money in it). I think what got me into the program is I open and close the casino. And I tend to give it all back. Lol.

So, am I understanding this correctly that instead of rebates being earned that club Royale members are only currently being offered 'free' cruises and not rebates to be used until March 2016? Please tell me I'm wrong and misread.

Negative

You still earn rebates. But if they offer you a free voucher for a cruise while on board my understanding is that you can accept tthat voucher instead of your rebate. It's an either or. NOT both. It could change again but that's what's the host on the allure explained to me.
