Casino Program Changes

Bummer. Although I am doing the 12/5 Beach Bash, it's not comped :(((

Strange, I remember my wife telling me about one of the beach bashes when she was on the phone to CR and pretty sure it was comped, probably a D1 category or similar.

Only have 5 years until DD leaves the nest, then we will be able to take full advantage of all of these wonderful offerings.

Sell up here in TX, downsize to a nice little place in Miami, then cruise as much as and when we please.

Happy Days!!

Crash the party and let us know what they do :)

Some people are lucky enough to get invites for some of these events for FREE. Orherwise u can just book thru CR and you can participate. BBQ Beach Bash is the best one

Thanks, I'll give CR a call. I had originally booked that one through a TA and while talking to CR about a different cruise, they took a look at the pricing for all of my booked cruises and actually knocked about 15% off of the Anthem cruise.

Just noticed theres a bbq beach bash on that sailing too. perhaps I'll crash both if they don't let me in :P

When I asked a month or so ago I was only going to get 200ish off Anthem. It wasn't enough to warrent loosing our OBC for booking onboard. I'm not even in the top 10,000 CR VIP. :(

I'd forgotten that I booked this one onboard too til you mentioned it. I transferred it to a TA after and CR worked with the TA to make the adjustment for me. Now I have to find the original paperwork to see if there was an OBC for booking onboard. I booked it last May and the adjustment was in late November. This is why I love these threads. I learn about new perks and I get reminders to check for existing ones.

Yea, I'm probably not in the top 10,000 either but I figure they can't all be on that boat when I'm there. I could potentially be in the top 1000 on the boat!

They probably DID offer you the comped cruise. I just didn't qualify for this one. I did get a comp cruise 2 weeks ago on Allure but who knows if I'll ever get something like that again.

I checked the CR rate for the 12/5 Indy and they were exactly the same for a balcony as a TA with my D+ discount.

I don't know if this is always the case, but at least in my experience, the Casino will offer bigger discounts on some cabin categories than they do on other, on the same sailing. So I'm always going to ask what their best deal for that particular sailing is.

My upcoming Navigator cruise, they didn't offer anything extraordinary on a D1 or E1, but they had a heckova deal on a GS.

Thanks for reminding me- I need to check their rates on a GS!!!

I'm back from my cruise and can report on what I saw onboard. I didn't see much difference from Club Royale in recent history.

The casino host was present, but other than a few drink coupons, she didn't offer me any onboard comps.

She did, however, tell me that I had "won" a free cruise based on my play. She mentioned it was based on a number of mathematical factors including bet size, length of play, and my "theoretical loss". She said that this was part of the new program.

There is a discussion in another thread about the free cruise offer and its limitations. I've posted there a copy of the details of my offer. Basically, I have a list of about 30 cruises over the next three months from which to choose, or else I can apply the certificate as $700 toward any other cruise over the next three months. I must make my selection and book it within two weeks.

There are apparently three tiers of free cruise offers. One needs to have accumulated 1800 points* for tier 1, 2250 for tier 2, or 3000 for tier 3.

* These points are not the points you earn by playing slots. These points are computed based on the previously mentioned factors.

I ended up getting 2267 of these points, so I just barely qualified for tier 2. When she mentioned that, I was excited because I was thinking it'd be a very nice free cruise offer. When I got back to my cabin and looked at what they were actually offering, I was really disappointed. If this is where Club Royale is going in the future in order to try and be competitive in the cruise casino players' club space, they're doing it wrong.

Thanks Marc for the updated info.

Valuable information regarding the pts and tier levels

Glad you reiterated about the points;) I am sure that will still confuse a few.

Hopefully you can work with CR so they can accomodate you with a free cruise that works with your schedule.

Will see what other perks start rolling out, will report back after our June cruise

As we intend to fully work the system to see what we can get:)

Happy Days!

I am on the allure on march 29th. ( which I got a free balcony room and only paid taxes and grats from CR) Also. they told me if I sailed by march 31st of this year I would receive and additional 20% bonus on my rebate. Now..... Here is a letter that I received in the mail this saturday march 21st.

The letter said that. The use of rebates and the earning of rebates had extended until march of 2016. It also said that I only had a couple weeks left and that the cut off for the evaluation period was still march 15th of 2015 ( funny that I didnt get the letter until march 21st). And it stated in the letter the thing about if you sail by march 31st you would get a bonus 20% on your earned redemtions.

I too will report back after my allure sailing and see what happens.

For a bit of background. I typically only play roulette and average $100 to $150 per hand. I also typically go on 4 night cruises and average about 2.5 hours per night in the casino. I too am curious to see where my points come in at. I dont consider myself anywhere near what must be a high roller catagory,

Originally, I too received a letter stating the cut-off for rating was March 15, 2015, but rebates had been extended until March of 2016. As I am sailing on March 28, I call CR and they told me my cruise on March 28 would count toward my rating. I guess we'll see when I get aboard.

Yes, I agree, it seems to be constantly changing. However, if thats true, that how does the other poster already now what his point total is? I would have thought thats what they give you as you roll into the new program? To be honest, I hope , for me the cutoff was march 15th as my play has been really good as I prefer shorter sailings. If it's based on hours per day, it's much harder ( or potentially more expensive) to keep up that level of play for 7 days. :)

Great info! Sounds like this is part of the new system where they say you will know onboard what u qualify for. It's gonna be comped cruise for some and comped onboard amenities for others. We will keep the cash rebate system it sounds like til next March.

The comped cruises sound great but if they limit you like that it's hard to take advantage for many people. Thanks to all for sharing what they find out

$100-150 a spin on roulette is up there. I bet about half that but I also got the free cruise on Allure. From that cruise I earned a $300 rebate which was less than what I was expecting. I don't know if THAT part has changed.

The original roll out date of the "NEW" program was 15th March, I will go out on a limb and make the assumption, being Marc is a valued CR VIP member and has quite a high ranking, he so to say was the 1st Guinea pig!!

I expect similar changes up until March 2016, rather than a cut off from old to new, CR will try to implement portions gradually through the year to see how they pan out and from member feedback see if the NEW program will actually benefit them or members.

IMO the biggest drawback is only rating existing members on play ONLY dated back to March 2014.. That truly sucks!!

I received that letter on the 16th and I found it funny too. The way it's phrased suggests that it should have been mailed in Dec/Jan or earlier. Makes no sense to tell me the end date of the evaluation period after it has passed, unless their newest attraction onboard is gonna be a time machine.

Don't worry, be happy :)

Edit to say, Best of Luck to all, on the free cruise :)

Has anyone been able to have their booking made in CAD $ using the CR benefits? I have a discount I can apply to a future cruise but it must be booked through CR in USD which offsets many currency exchange benefits I can get with a CAD $ booking. It would be nice to have the booking in CAD so I can also take advantage of those benefits.
