Casino Program Changes

Recommended Posts

Hopefully this news is not true, Nick

Not doubting your information, just not liking what they are telling you:)

We were told 7000 for free cruise, someone else posted 3500, now only 2400

On our last cruise we spent only 3 of 7 days in casino and amassed more than 2400.

On that calculation, free cruises at 2400 will be given out to almost everyone;)

I am cool with that, that is what CR is wanting to achieve.

We applied our points, rebate, certificate whatever they call it now to our next cruise, so you should have no issues applying that $750 to your next booked cruise.

Thanks for the update.

I truly believe with CR the left hand does not even have a right hand connected to the same body:D

Keep the news coming folks, we will find out more between us, than we will from CR.

Happy Days!

Graham- the 2,400 points was what Max told me on Sunday. He said they had just got off a conference call between all the hosts and CR higher ups. He also said that this and everything else he conveyed to me is all still pending final approval so it MAY or may not end up as the final plan.

I'm glad I will be able to use the $750 value of my certificate to an existing cruise in 2017. That one already has a $375 which will then have to come off and be used on another cruise. Problem is, I have 6 booked and each one already is either comped or has rebate/discount already applied. That means I have to book another cruise lol

Nick,

Totally understand things may or will change, until that day we all officially receive notification from CR, I am sure they are testing, tweaking and piloting certain aspects on different ships.

Let's just hope there is some level of consistency fleet wide when program is eventually rolled out.

I have a good friend on Anthem currently that should be able to shed a little more light on situation if any new updates occur.

All we can do is anxiously wait a definitive resolution.

Guess also you will just have to book another cruise:)

Happy Days!

I got a free OV cert. so I will find out today if I can apply it as payment toward a 2017 cruise I already booked (as $750 payment).

So, you were told by Club Royale that you're able to use your free cruise certificate's value toward a cruise after the expiration date on the certificate? That's exactly the opposite of what I was told just yesterday. (I can't decide whether this warrants a :( or a .)

I had to use my cert on an existing booking PRIOR to the 9/1/16 sailing. Fortunately I have an Aug 14 sailing I. An swap out a rebate I already had applied as payment. Then take that rebate and move it to a 2/3/17 sailing that was already booked.

As I said before, this new system won't give any incentive to keep playing in the casino if you're up on the first day or 2, since any credit on future cruises will be the same whether you play 1 hour or 20 hours or win or lose

Thanks for the explanation! I'm glad you were able to make it work for you. Might as well get what you can out of them now while you can! :)

Another change of info from CR. If I were to use my cert on an existing sailing (has to be prior to 9/1/16), that cruise would have to be repriced at today's rate and therefore it's not a good deal. So I either had to redeem it for a new cruise prior to 9/1 or lose it. I used it to get 7/1/16 comped on Majesty. Also, they said I couldnt move existing rebates to 2017 anyway. I expressed my disdain for the lack of program and said a lot of members maybe jumping ship.... They are aware of the displeasure of so many of us

Nick,

Thanks for the update

I am sure they are all over it, was told yesterday there will be some news at the end of the month, they never said which month;)

Being the casino is the 1st - 2nd revenue generator on RC ships, along side booze, they want to get it right 1st time, so they don't spend another year fixing it.

Happy Days!

Did you check out those sailings I had posted, cheap as chips through CR:D

Nick, Graham and Marc, thank you all for updates, I am currently on Anthem and asked Casino Host this evening if any news to the program, she said no.

All of us are being told different information about this new and improved program.

Nick, since when did CR start repricing cruises when using a cert? I am not liking this at all.

I was first told by CR I couldn't use my prior Certs for 2017 sailing, I then requested a Supervisor and she okayed it since all my future cruises this year have certs. already applied. I will be coming off 3--B2B the end of April, there's no way I will be able to use these 3 additional certs, Supervisor said to call when I come and they will see what they can do for me. I also told her I don't see any incentive to continue gambling they way I had in the past.

I was also told by CR I can also use the cert pass the expiration date, it could be because Nick and I are cruising so often in a given year.

Let's see if any of us get that email by the end of the month.

My host also mentioned something about the 7000 points for a free cruise but then lower the number.

I guess we'll still play the waiting game from CR

Linda- lucky you being on Anthem this long! I called 2 different people at CR this week and both gave me the same story- that my cert had to be used by a 9/1 sailing AND if I used it on a current sailing that sailing would have to be repriced. Since you have 3 certs, that's a special case and they SHOUld make an exception in your case since there are no rules yet lol.

I have comp cruises in Apr, May, July so I may not be gambling much at this rate

We have not been doing RCCL cruises for over 2 years now. I was surprised when I got an email from Casino Royale for comp inside/OV on certain ships. I called yesterday to see what they can do for Harmony of the Seas bc I wasn't interested in the other ships.

To my surprise, CR gave 40% off the cabin rate plus $500 off for casino slots(?). I read the last few pages of post to catch up. Do we still get free drinks in the casino? Free dinner at specialty? Any info would help.

Thanks in advance for y'all help.

Without knowing you or your level of play and bankroll hard to guess.

But I would say, if you are getting a 40% discount on a cabin, and $500 freeplay on slots, more then likely you will get stickered for free drinks in the casino.

As for Free dinner, that is at discretion of CR host or CR manager by invitation

Bet big enough no harm in asking for a meal for free.

Points on slots are 1 for every $5 spent, 7000pts for a free cruise, I will let you do the math:D

Also before you get off the ship make sure you check with casino host on your rating, so you can get the correct award for your next cruise

No longer will you get a cash rebate, those good old days ended on March 15th 2016.

Did you get any more information from CR regarding New program.

Happy Days!

Be lucky :)

If you are a CR VIP, you should get free drinks in the casino or at least some drink coupons. Introduce yourself to the casino host when you board. It can't hurt to ask. Have fun on your cruise!

Thank you Pompeysailor and MaryJaden. I'm not VIP and I think I'm the lowest tier. I'm been playing with Casino at Sea thru NCL the past 2 years. I actually have 3 more cruises with them before I board Harmony. To my understanding is that with the new program they wipe the slate clean but is emailing everyone who HAS played before to get them back on RCCL. I did remember that I did get free drinks, special dinner, wine and chocolate strawberries, and no fee to cash out money on the ship. But I guess I will start a new. I'm just happy that they gave me a great discount and can't wait to try the biggest ship at sea (for the moment). Thanks again everyone.

Until they roll out their new tiered program, everyone who is a member of Club Royale is a "VIP" member; the old program wasn't tiered.

In general, all Club Royale member would at least get free drinks in the casino and the 5% fee waived for getting cash from the SeaPass account. Other perks, such as specialty restaurant dining or free cruise certificates, are based on one's level of play, however.

Sounds like it would be better for me if I were to stop showing my face in the casino for a couple of years lol.

Agreed....I stopped gambling 3 cruises back, until they get something worthwhile out to all of us...not worth it anymore. However I called a few days ago and they threw an additional cruise discount to me off an existing fall sailing..so never hurts to ask while they're transitioning to new program.

Meant to say B2B2B----not 3---B2B

This repricing is still on my mind, what is the reason CR is telling you ""why""the cruise has to be repriced? Even though it's a current sailing, I am not comprehending CR reason to reprice. You would think they would be happy to have a CR member booking a last minute cruise.

Since you also cruise often, see if a Supervisor can help you with the cert after 9/1, you have nothing to lose by asking for the 3rd time, best of luck on the cert.

On Grandeur now. 2400 pts for a free cruise during a limited time period. Also, $100 off a cruise for each 400 points earned. Don't know if the cruise has to be booked with CR or not but it does say limited time period. Will try to find out more. Katherine

$100 off for 400 pts:eek:

Looks like on my next cruise, I will be able to pay off the one after that with ease:)

2400 free cruise, that is just way too easy, IMO

we did that last cruise only going in casino 3 of the 7 days!

But if that is what CR want to offer, let the heavy betting begin

Appreciate this may be a time sensitive offer

Good luck to you and get the most out of this offer, before it vanishes.

Happy Days!
