heavyaxle Posted October 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2014 My wife and I are considering a cruise along the Norwegian coast on a Hurtigruten ship. I understand that liquor is very expensive in Norway. So what would be the price of a gin martini in the bar? A glass of good wine at lunch or dinner? Is is recommended that cruisers bring their own liquor and drink it in their cabin? Thanks.
Rare Essiesmom Posted October 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2014 How about asking this on the Hurtigruten forum? http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
cb at sea Posted October 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) Drinking in the cabin is ultra boring.....some ships allow you to bring your own booze...some don't. I don't know Hurtigruten....but just budget for drinks from the ship...it's much more fun to be in a bar with others! Consider it "entertainment"! Rare Keith1010 Posted October 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2014 I would do as Essiesmom recommended. Some people do drink in their room to save money. Like most things, there is no right or wrong on this but the key is to know the rules of the cruise lines with respect to what you may bring no board with you in tens of spirits and wine.
