wilson2579 Posted October 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Do you get a robe/dressing gown supplied in a superior deluxe balcony cabin on the Independence. Wondering whether to pack mine or not, thanks.
Clarea Posted October 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Do you get a robe/dressing gown supplied in a superior deluxe balcony cabin on the Independence. Wondering whether to pack mine or not, thanks. Not usually. Robes are given to guests in JS and above staterooms, and Platinum and above C&A level. However, if you ask your stateroom attendant, you may find they some some extra.
Ourusualbeach Posted October 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Junior Suites and above will have robes. Platinum C&A members and above will get robes. You can ask your stateroom attendant if you don't fit in those categories and sometimes hey will accommodate you but it is not guaranteed.

Ourusualbeach Posted October 19, 2014 #9 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Haha, but I am confused now, will I have them or won't I. Robes will not automatically be in every cabin. As Both Bob and I mentioned it is for suites and above and C&A members Platinum and up. You might be able to get them but not guaranteed.
cruisegirl1 Posted October 19, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 19, 2014 If you are a newer cruiser to RCCL or are not in a Junior Suite or higher you will not automatically be given a robe. If you have a light weight robe, pack it. I am eligible for a robe but more than once, when it was not waiting for me in the cabin, I did not get it till the second or third day. They are large and heavy, so if you prefer something lighter, pack one. enjoy M

wilson2579 Posted October 19, 2014 Author #15 Share Posted October 19, 2014 PLEASE don't wear them around the ship. Haha, I only need mine for popping out on to the balcony although I thought I was going to need one to walk off the ship on our last cruise as I mistakingly packed my trousers in my case on the last night, which was then taken off. Luckily our daughter was in the next cabin and I had to squeeze myself into a pair 2 sizes too small.

We have joked about it over the years we have cruised but never thought it would happen. So lucky our daughter and boyfriend were there as we usually cruise on our own. brenderlou Posted October 19, 2014 #18 Share Posted October 19, 2014 I almost did when hubby packed my clothes I had out to leave the ship. I was asleep and he came back from the casino thinking he was doing me a favor. Cabin attendant gave me a pair of shorts and tshirt. He received a very generous tip!!!! Jackamama Posted October 19, 2014 #19 Share Posted October 19, 2014 PLEASE don't wear them around the ship. On our recent cruise one couple actually strolled around the the whole ship wearing them, even in the Royal Promenade. It looked very odd. Everyone was staring at them. I did wonder if perhaps their luggage had gone missing, but apparently not :D

Every time I've requested a robe, the room steward has brought one within 5 min. In fact, I often exchange them several times during the cruise. The robes occasionally get soiled in the WJ. I hope you enjoy walking around the ship in your robe.

crilski Posted October 20, 2014 #22 Share Posted October 20, 2014 Even when you're suppose to have a robe supplied, you don't always get one. I even asked, and they didn't have any more. So to be safe . . . pack something.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the difference where someone is wearing their robe. When you see us in the hallway, what difference does it make where we are going????

I personally think that a robe should only be worn in your cabin, not in public.
