Ncl sale

Thanks for bringing the Best Price Guarantee to my attention. This will be my first time on an NCL ship and I wasn't aware that the company would give you a better price after final payment. It doesn't work that way on Carnival (our last 9 cruises were on Carnival ships) unless you book an "Early Saver" rate.

I'm sorry that the restrictions kept you from getting the dining package but I hope you enjoy your cruise, Rehr.

As an update; I sent out a few sweet but persistent emails and was able to secure my dinner promos that we're being offered with the sale. A lot of it probably had to do with me having booked only a few hours prior to when the sale started. I wasn't really expecting anything to come of them but I thought it was worth a shot. I'm definitely pumped for this cruise now and to see how NCL compares to the lines we've previously sailed. Happy sailing everyone! :)

The 4 day was the only thing that fit our time schedule but the Getaway does look awesome. It'll be interesting to see how NCL handles a partial charter as well. It's the Sixthman Grammy Festival at Sea and I believe it's going to be a 50/50 mix between charter passengers and regular guests. I've checked out the charter only venue schedule and it doesn't look like it'll interfere too much with daily activities. I'm sure we will have a fabulous time :)

I don't know if I could ever justify the price of a charter, I think I'd rather just cruise twice for the price lol.

I booked yesterday, we are about 45 ahead of our cruise and got $230 OBC!

1st to those who booked a few days before and missed this offer. If you are not first time bookers with NCL, get a better personal cruise consultant. I called mine a few days ago, and she said don't order your cruise now, wait until this offer is available, then book.

2nd... if you are within your final payment, NCL will literally do nothing to help you out. this is for new bookings only. they will, however, upgrade you to next available cabin, up to your full payment price. Call and get an upgrade, because you are not getting OBC or your money back... sorry :( I speak from experience, no matter how many times you complain.

It's all very simple. If you are still before final payment you can benefit from all new promotions, price drops etc. Just call Norwegian or your travel agent. That's what I did this morning with the new promo after having booked last Saturday. The cruise line will honor any promo prior to final payment... My price dropped, I have the 10% OBC and I have an upgrade for my room from BC to BA.

Is it really that simple? In a way, yes, I agree. But, you may have to rebook. The price may be up, and the room you want may be gone. You had just booked so it worked. I (and thousands of others perhaps) booked an April 19, 2015 cruise months ago. There were no promos or bonuses when I booked in July, but the price for our BA has gone up over $400. which is more than the 10% OBC.

So got a decision back. They claim I sent in the reservation at 4:17 and the request to get the change at 4:18. 1 minute past 48hrs. Never mind that my time stamps show I sent it at 3:18. They're denying me over 1 minute. Way to go on the customer service NCL.

I did indeed have to rebook. However, I lucked out. The new pricing was less than the original booking price by about $215. With the 10% OBC and free category upgrade, it was a no brainer... Do remember you paid less by booking early. Things even out... Keep watching for any new promos you might be eligible for prior to final payment. Who knows, good things might come up. :)

Absolutely! I am very happy with my booking (although that particular cruise is my 4th with NCL but first with no OBC). I just wanted people to know that there are several facets behind the simple process.

I called them back this morning and thanks to all I learned from this thread we now have $175 OBC. We had booked our cruise through Casinos at Sea about two weeks ago. Because it was our CET comped cruise, I had no idea that we could get more through this new sale. Thanks everyone !

We were outside the final payment, so I suppose we could have canceled and rebooked, but TA did the business for us as usual. New lower rate, further discounted, plus wine and berries as extra. Good stuff. Given the recent beating taken by the C$, it's probably a couple percent better than I realize.

How'd ya get the wine and berries!?

Our rate didn't lower, but we got OBC.

My agent was trying to tell me (via the NCL agent) that my cruise cost would go up $43 CDN with this promo. I said ah, no. It's the same price on the NCL website. Anyways, the NCL agent didn't type in the Canadian Resident Rate!

There's a Canadian Resident Rate? How does that work? I've never seen a change in price whether I put where I live in the cruise search on ncl.com or not.

We're getting about $30 pp on our 10-day and 11-day Meds in February.

Not sure how it's even legal (discriminatory) but there it is.

Never tried NCL. This looks interesting for the dinner package. Anyone know if it is offered to solos, or if any solos have booked?

Terms and conditions of any promo are linked on the promo page, usually at the very bottom - just like in this case.

The page at http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/cruiser/cmsPagesPopup.html?pageId=freestyleterms says:

"Dinner offer is for one dinner for two in each of the select restaurants during the cruise. Dining amenities per stateroom and will be applied to 1st guest on the reservation."

So it doesn't matter if you are cruising solo or not, first passenger on the reservation gets the amenities.
