ready2cruzagain Posted November 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 4, 2014 Carnival and Princess do not interchange loyalty programs. So he was full of it.
RLBlack Posted November 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2014 He might have been talking about credit card points- some folks are really good at using combinations with different cards - if you have a number of cards you can get airfare, cruise- hotel nights. windsor26 Posted November 4, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2014 The only loyalty 'swap' is that Princess will accept days cruised from P&O UK and P&O Australia but not in reverse. It used to be that P&O UK would accept 50% of Princess days but they stopped that about 4 years ago.
Pam in CA Posted November 4, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 4, 2014 My wife over heard on our last cruise a gentleman stating he was able to combine his cruise points from Carnival and Princess. Is anyone aware of this and how is it done? He's either: 1. Lying; 2. Trying to make himself sound special; 3. Smoking something funny. Princess cruise credits are not combinable with any other cruise line other than past cruises on P&O (and vice versa.) Period. If you've cruised Carnival previously, you'll automatically have a Princess Captain's Circle #. That's it. You may be eligible for past passenger fares but since you can always do better with a good discount TA, that's not much of a perk.
caribill Posted November 4, 2014 #8 Share Posted November 4, 2014 CCL credit card allows points to be spent on Princess as well as on Carnival.
ready2cruzagain Posted November 5, 2014 #9 Share Posted November 5, 2014 CCL credit card allows points to be spent on Princess as well as on Carnival. That is true. I used my CCL credit card to pay for our Princess cruise and then used the accumulated points to pay towards my credit balance.

P&O no longer recognise Princess cruises in their loyalty programme and havent done for 3-4 yrs.

Princess also accept future P&O cruises and my P&O days are added to my Princess Captains Circle account long before the cruise date. However P&O do not accept ANY Princess days.
