Changes At The Top for RCI and Celebrity

Recommended Posts

All the press releases I can find still show him as President and COO (Chief Operating Officer) of RCC Ltd.

True. He is now President and COO at the corporate level, so he oversees operations of all of the brands.

I'm very happy to see RCI fill the vacancy. IMHO the company could use some leadership right now, and hopefully installing Michael Bayley will bring some stability and accountability for... err... struggling... parts of the company.

Best of luck to Mr. Bayley.

From the article -

"She moves to her new role from her position as Executive Vice President, Operations at Royal Caribbean, where she played a critical role in the recent successful launch of Quantum of the Seas, the first in the company's newest class of ships."

Hmm, does giving all 3400 guests on the 11/2 Maiden Voyage a 25% Future Cruise Certificate and OBC count as "successful launch" ?

Wouldn't a successful launch have really been when the guests were all happy and WOWed by the launch, instead of all the complaints/bad reviews etc ?

What do they actually mean when they say "successful launch" ?

Good question. Maybe no event of Titanic proportions makes it a successful launch! Made the TA with no epic fail. ;)

LOL! That statement is, at best, presumptuous. The jury is most certainly still out as to whether Quantum's launch, still very much underway in her first few weeks of service, was "successful."

...unless you define success as the mere fact that the ship floats and transports passengers under its own power. :p

I was thinkng the same thing... when they opened the gate to the dry dock it didn't sink. Therefore, it was a successful launch.
