Colo Cruiser Posted December 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2014 I don't believe a 3 or 4 nighter has a formal night.

wizard-of-roz Posted December 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 16, 2014 You wouldn't want one on such a short cruise. All the unnecessary "stuff" that goes with dressing-up on such a short cruise. Take advantage of the ease of not dressing-up; relax; enjoy!!!!!
baronessk Posted December 16, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 16, 2014 None, but most likely will be a "dress to impress" night.
Near PDX Posted December 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 16, 2014 We are going to be in Vancouver, BC in the first part of May, 2015, and while there decided to do the little 4 day Alaska sampler cruise on the Coral because it gives us an entire day in Ketchikan. Our Cruise Personalizer indicates 1 formal night and 3 resort casual nights for that cruise. Based on our Personalizer, it might not be accurate to make a blanket statement that there are NO formal nights on any 4 night cruise. A statement such as "usually not" might be more accurate. I'm not sure about the accuracy of the Personalizer this far in advance so I recommend paying close attention to the series of informational emails (from the Captain, the Cruise Director, etc.) sent a few weeks before the cruise that will have the definitive information: "There are (insert number; if none it will read "0") formal nights." Rare geoherb Posted December 16, 2014 #9 Share Posted December 16, 2014 Our 4-night cruise had "dress to impress" nights but no formal nights. The FAQ on the Princess website lists "0" for the number of formal nights on cruises 1-4 nights long.
jrzebird Posted December 16, 2014 #10 Share Posted December 16, 2014 Our 4-night cruise had "dress to impress" nights but no formal nights. The FAQ on the Princess website lists "0" for the number of formal nights on cruises 1-4 nights long. Same here. No formal but a dress to impress. I've been on 4-nighters for the past 4 years, as a b2b before or after the repo cruise, and have never had a formal night. So, 'in my personal experience', 4-nighters don't have formal nights. Lovetocruiseprincess Posted December 16, 2014 #11 Share Posted December 16, 2014 The "dress to impress" night confused many on our 4 day trip. There were people with suits others dressed casually and still others with shorts & flip flops. :p

caribill Posted March 21, 2015 #16 Share Posted March 21, 2015 Does anyone know if they serve escargot on a 4 night cruise? Ask your headwaiter the first evening. If not on a menu for the cruise, he may be able to arrange it for you anyway.
Lulubelle45 Posted March 21, 2015 #17 Share Posted March 21, 2015 I'm also booked on that same 4 night Alaska Sampler and it stated one formal night but I can't seem to find out which night it is. ( May 3rd?) Yet the FAQ does state 0 formals. I guess because it is a "sampler" they want to show off the experience of a formal night as well. Rare sns1 Posted March 21, 2015 #18 Share Posted March 21, 2015 I will definitely ask the headwaiter. Thanks! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Forums mobile app
Lovetocruiseprincess Posted March 21, 2015 #19 Share Posted March 21, 2015 They just have a "Dress to impress" night which covers everything. If people want to dress up, they do but it's not what most people chose on our 4 day.
deise17311 Posted March 21, 2015 #20 Share Posted March 21, 2015 They have 4 or 0...because you can either dress up any night or no nights...on the 4 day cruises, it seems anything goes...

AKman2495 Posted March 21, 2015 #22 Share Posted March 21, 2015 Back in 2013 we were on a 4 day "sampler" that was turned into a cruise for veterans. They had one formal night scheduled but then announced there would be no formal night. But there was such a big protest that they restored the formal night. The formal night was the first sea day after embarkation
Colo Cruiser Posted March 21, 2015 #23 Share Posted March 21, 2015 Either the second or third night. Yes, it won't be the first or the last night. :)
