Turn-around day in Port Everglades:any good divng?

(I have also posted this on the scuba/snorkel board.)

We will be traveling on the Caribbean Princess, and will be in Port Everglades 1/3/15 for the BtB day. Are there any convenient dive shops that could provide a dive or two within the 7-4 timeframe that day?

Key Largo is about 90 miles away. There are several diving shops there and reefs. It's probably not doable for a turn around day, but better suited for back to back to cruises when you have a day off in between.

One possibility might be a freshwater sinkhole dive ....

The water temperatures in Ft. Lauderdale in January can be down right CHILLY! ;)

There are some great dives right in the Lauderdale area. I've never dove in Jan. if you are advanced certified, check out The Captain Dan wreck. The Copenhagen is a good one too, not advanced for that one.

Right now it is in the low to mid 70s and I think the average in January is low 70s.

LOL! Being from MI, that's warm! DH dives around here in low-visability lakes that might make it to 60, even in the summer. He says any diving where you can see and not use a dry suit is great!

I live on the beach just north of Fort Lauderdale and aside from the rainy weather we had for a couple of days over Christmas, the beach has been crowded with plenty of swimmers (not me though - I like an 85 degree pool :D).
