FLL airport to cruise port

I know that when we've cruised out of Miami the taxi fares were regulated by zones. Is this also the case for Ft. Lauderdale airport to the cruise port in Ft. Lauderdale?

If so, about how much do they charge? I know the port isn't too far from the airport, so what can we expect?

Thanks!

As mentioned above, it is metered and should cost about $15.

There are a few bad apples in the barrel of cab drivers at FLL (nothing like the crooks in Philly!), so be aware that some drivers will try to tell you that there is a "minimum" fare of $20-25, or they will argue that it is a per person fare.

I always use my phone to take a picture of the cab # and driver info placard "just in case I forget something in your cab." Knowing that you have his info documented tends to cut WAY down on the illegal fare games. On at least one occasion I called over a local police officer to mediate the fare discrepancy - the officer sided with me, I gave the driver $14.80 exactly and stiffed him on the $5 tip I normally would have offered.

This is a really stupid question, I have not ridden in a cab in the United States in 15 years. Is this information in the partition, or hanging by the meter, or...?

I love this idea. Honestly, I would just get out and walk into the terminal after handing him the correct amount. if they have a problem, call the cops on me. I will pay you what the meter says, that is all. If you are cool, I will probably just hand you a 20 and say have a nice day.
