Now that dd is postponed on oasis:

During the last recent dry dock they transformed the MDR into three different dining rooms how do they choose which passenger gets to eat in which one? I am sure the formal dining room would be nicer in decor, just curious if they have a system in choosing who eats where and my time dining does anybody know whether it will be a certain dining room or will we be able to choose which one to eat at since all the decor in each one is different?

The dining rooms are assigned as they have always been on Oasis, without regard to decor. Traditional dining is deck three, which is now decorated for American Icon. Decks four (Grande) and five (Silk) are My Time Dining. If you want to dine in "Grande" choose MTD, then when you go to dinner, request to be on deck four. Easy as that.

I know that there is another lengthly thread on this topic but is this a definite done deal? We will be on Oasis on April 18 with two other couples and, frankly, were a little confused as to how to make DD reservations. I think traditional MTD will be easier to coordinate. They had said that reservations could be made after January 1. Will that still be the case? Not getting great answers that I am confident with on Royal.

Seeing Dynamic Dinning is delayed until later in the year, you will be able to have Traditional Dinning or My Time Dinning. If you booked thru a Travel Agent check with them if you booked Thru Royal I would call them.

All the FAQs at the RCI website considering Oasis and Food and Beverage have been updated with the 'late' 2015 information.

I was on the TA right after the refit and was in American Icon and feel the décor of the 3 venues are quite equal, but different. The décor is basically identical to Quantum. Silk on Oasis was quite interesting with a feature table at the entrance that was said to be the Captain's table. Silk had curtains that could be drawn around various sections making them into more private sections. I would guess the large tables at Silk with the 'lazy-susans' in the middle of the tables would be a distinctive feature as well along with some of the very high-backed chairs there. American Icon has a lot of tables for 2 and many tables have padded bench seating along an interior section and then chair across.

With the menu being the same, it is really just a décor issue.

We just got back from the christmas cruise as someone else has said deck 3 american icon is traditional seating only, deck 4 grande is a mix of traditional and MTD and deck 5 silk is all MTD. We were allocated silk as our MTD location. That said 1 night we were taken down to deck 3 and 1 night down to deck 4 for a table as silk was full and the others had spaces. I didn't really like the decor so much in silk, eating in somewhere with oriental decor but not oriental food just seemed a bit strange, I preferred 3 and 4, but that's just me.

With the popularity of MTD in Silk and I think the timing of Cats causing many more to book early than usual, they were also sending passengers to specialty dining venues at no charge on the October TA sailing, mostly Giovanni's and Solarium Bistro.

I called Royal last night to verify that there was no DD and they confirmed.

I was happy as we have sailed Oasis the seas before and loved it the way it was. We have 16 of us going and having 1 dining room makes things so much easier. We all have My Time Dining and they said we can have 2 tables of 8 next to each other. Can't wait for March 14:)
