Lunch in MDR on Embarkment Day

Normally, anyone who has ever sailed on a Carnival Corporation ship can eat lunch in the dining room on embarkation day.

On occasion the dining room is limited to high ranking Mariners, due to anticipated high demand that day. There are times when the dining room is closed to passengers on embarkation day, due to a special event being held there.

Sometimes if there is a high number of mariners on board they will limit it to only the higher ranking mariners such as 3 star/4 star/5 star. If you have never cruised on Hal but have cruised on let say Carnival you will be considered a 1 star mariner. Just check your embarkation/room card and see if there is a star on it. Also if you are friends with a mariner they can bring you along even if you are not.

oops sorry Ruth, didn't see your post, apparently I type to slowly.

If I recall, the lunch menu is always the same on embarkation day? Guacamole burger, etc? It just occurred to me, maybe we should try PG for lunch on embarkation day (next week, hooray for me:)!)

Is PG open for lunch on embarkation day? If so, is it pretty busy?

Sorry -- Pinnacle Grill is not open on Embarkation Day.

That would be a matter of widely debated opinion...

I agree. My DH and I always preferred Lido on Embarkation Day. I love the happy energy and watching people with smiles. :) I particularly enjoy seeing those who appear to be new cruisers taking it all in. :)

We look forward to lunch in the MDR (I get the Salumi and soup, DH gets the shrimp cocktail and soup). Not a big meal but pleasantly filling.

After a busy morning getting organized at the hotel, shuttling to the port, and embarkation we like just chilling and letting someone else wait on us :D. We normally request a table with others so have a nice time getting to know some of our fellow travelers.

Rested and relaxed we head for the cabin to hopefully unpack before muster then on to the Seaview pool area for an "umbrella drink" to kick off the wonderful week waiting for us.:D

A couple of pictures of the Neptune lunch offerings:

Thanks for the pix. We'll stop by when we get on the ship and then head off to the MDR or buffet (or maybe just stay put).

It's interesting comparing the suites perks on Celebrity to HAL. So far Celebrity wins hands down but I'll see what HAL offers on our Jan 11 HAL cruise.

It is better than going to Lido..

Totally agree. I get my fill of crowds of people in my everyday life. I get sick often enough already without dealing with the lido germ pit. The less time spent there the better.

Do you mind saying why? Folks do complain about the suite perks but I can tell you they are much nicer than princess.

Check out this article. Celebrtity is treating suites guess very sweet.;) on embarkment day you are escorted on to the ship to a private function. All perks are up and running except the restaurants which will open in April across the fleet.
