Cruisingalong2012 Posted January 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2015 Arrive late afternoon at Venice Airport and need to find the best way to get a transfer from the Airport to Venice Cruise Terminal. Can anyone get me some information as we need to get there rather quickly.

Captain Canuck Posted January 14, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2015 water taxi really expensive there is also a bus that takes you to the square above the port..then people mover to the port..much cheaper but takes a bit longer
Rare kazu Posted January 14, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2015 a lot of people use the people mover. How close is your timing for arriving to the port? If it's tight, I would arrange ahead of time with a private company. They'll pick you up, transfer you to the water taxi which takes you right to the ship. Yes, it is a bit expensive, but the viewings are fantastic on the water taxi and if you are lucky and hit your roll call you may find someone to share the water taxi with which makes it very do-able. It's a nice way to go - if you can do it once.
travelingduo Posted January 14, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2015 Totally agree! Water taxi is convenient, quick, and a beautiful ride. In our opinion well worth it than schlepping and making changes. Enjoy! Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
Earl Rosebery Posted January 15, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 15, 2015 The OP said he wanted to go quickly. The quickest way is a land taxi directly to the cruise terminal. 20 -30 minutes.
sammiedawg Posted January 16, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) Land taxis are readily available at the airport, just walk outside. Fast trip by taxi and they will take you to the boarding area of the ship, you do not need the people mover or a water taxi. We used a private car company this past October to get us to the airport from Marina, it was a fraction of the cost Oceania charged. I would not do water taxi. Our venice airport experience is luggage retrieval is very slow. if you are checking bags this may slow you down. Hambagahle Posted January 16, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2015 Water taxi will cost €100 at least. Land taxi less than half that. And half the time too.
kylea_s Posted January 17, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2015 Car service, RomeinLimo, worked very well. They deliver you and your luggage directly to the ship. No need to learn how to use the bus and the people mover. The water taxi is a pretty ride but an unnecesary expense when you are too tired to really enjoy it.
