Cruzface Posted February 3, 2015 Author #28 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Any time dining turned out to be fine. We did have to wait some nights but not more than 20 minutes. They gave us a beeper and told us we could go anywhere but the casino...strange. First major difference between Carnival and NCL. On Norwegian, when they can't seat you immediately they give you the beeper and a ticket for free champagne. It came to the point on NCL that we would be disappointed if we got our seats right away.... The food in the MDR was good. Not great and certainly not as good as I remembered. Sometimes luke warm, sometimes cold. But we never went hungry and always found somthing to eat. I pretty much had steak or some version of red meat every night. Service was good, when it was excellent, I tipped a little extra in cash. A few pics while we were getting ready: The room was great and sooo much bigger than NCL balcony rooms. But no in room coffee maker... Cove view at night:

Cruzface Posted February 3, 2015 Author #31 Share Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Day 2 of the cruise is a sea day. We ordered room service coffee and croissants so we could have a snack before breakfast. The boys called me Hobbit all cruise because I ate like a Hobbit. 2 breakfasts, lunch, 2d lunch, pre-dinner, dinner, late night snack. DW made me walk a mile on the outdoor track every morning so I justified the extra calories as necessary to stay alive! kelkel2 Posted February 3, 2015 #35 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Directly with the hotel. I think we booked in March for the January date. I'm going to have to remember this. I looked right now at their rates, they just opened them up and they are running $363. Wondering if that's an introductory rate? I'll keep watching the rates then. I was beginning to think I had to find a backup plan for a hotel because I am really not wanting to pay that for a pre-cruise stay.

surfjock27 Posted February 3, 2015 #39 Share Posted February 3, 2015 They had the games on in the casino bar and in the red frog pub. Great review. We'll be on the Breeze for the third time in December. She's gorgeous and well laid out. Also wanted to note that football is shown up on the Sports Deck bar as well. I liked watching the games up there, underneath the night sky, and it was always quiet. :)
Cruzface Posted February 3, 2015 Author #40 Share Posted February 3, 2015 I found a few other pictures from embarkation day. Here is Matt leading the dance on the lido at sail away. It was great, but he tried to do that EVERYWHERE. Now the pics are not working from my office computer. I'll try again later.
Cyndi03 Posted February 3, 2015 #41 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Great start! Subscribing, we are leaving on the Breeze on May 23rd. We were going to stay in Ft. Lauderdale and go to Miami via SAS in the AM. I think your plan may be better.
foxcent Posted February 3, 2015 #42 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Shopping was great but not what I wanted to be doing the night before my cruise. Toughest things to find- underwear, shorts and a bathing suit. Really??? Isn't this Miami??? I figured there would be shirts and bathing suits everywhere. I asked a salesperson and she said, "they aren't in season." Really? Isn't it the same season all year round? Finally bought a suit at Bubba Gumps. Yup, a Bubba Gump bathing suit. Stylin.... Great dinner at the Cuban place in Bayside. The Cubano sandwich: After shopping we actually had a good time at Bayside watching a terrific Latin band and the crackheads dancing in front of them. Very entertaining. End if an interesting Day 1. But we are cruising tomorrow!!!! Why does he have to be a crack head?

Cruzface Posted February 3, 2015 Author #46 Share Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) We had a 10:30 Meet and Greet with our Facebook group...Blame it on the Breezers. Really fun group and a great turnout. Very well organized. We had the liquid nightclub to ourselves. I won a T-shirt in the raffle which I needed desperately. After the meet and greet, we went in search of loungers. Chair hogs galore. We ultimately found something in the aft area and enjoyed some rays and the view...ahhh. After sunning ourselves we went to the Red Frog Pub and enjoyed few drinks. DW got Blue Bahama which is basically a blue LI Iced Tea. She loved it. Loved the Red Frog. Great place to hang out. The have music there in the evenings. Edited February 3, 2015 by Cruzface

Cruzface Posted February 3, 2015 Author #48 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Now, tonight is formal night. One of the things DW, and the rest of us, was looking forward to was all of us getting dressed up fancy and having pics done. The boys really like getting dressed up, really. So, instead of lugging their suits, we decided to rent them tuxedos. For the Breeze you do it online and they deliver it to the candy shop for you to pick up. I have a tux already. So, we are all getting ready and the cabin phone rings. This can't be good. It's the oldest. The youngest apparently cut himself shaving and is bleeding real bad. Oh please. I'll be right there. Yikes! He is bleeding bad. Cut his mole. After 1 and 1/2 hours of still bleeding, we call it over. No formal night. No pics. No lobster!!!! We go to the buffet and it tastes like bitter disappointment. It may have been excellent, but I was in no mood. We try to salvage the night by going to the show and actually, it was pretty good. Got this great shot of the moon over the ocean from our balcony: Sock Monkey made another friend:
Cruzface Posted February 3, 2015 Author #49 Share Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Sea Day 2 Son's mole is all healed and they are off doing whatever they do, basketball, slides, pool, hot tub, eat, basketball, ice cream, pool slides, etc. 1st Breakfast arrives from room service absolutely on time and we are starting to get used to this. After our walk, we can only find chairs on deck 5. No big deal, still got sun. I want to try Fat Jimmy's anyway, so this is convenient. First day they opened late because we had a brief shower and then the line was ridiculous. So I was determined to make it today. Got there 20 minutes early. Ridiculous line. I mean 40 prople long. So I go back to the loungers and bide my time. At 1:00 I figure all the early birds are gone. Wrong. Still a long line. I decide to wait. The amount of food I am seeing people ingest around me is making me lose my appetite a bit. So I distract myself in conversation with a nice guy on line who also has kids cruising with him who are also pains in the ass. We are both saying that this better be worth it. It was. Sausages, chicken, pulled pork. Various sauces. Very well done Fat Jimmy. DW and I share a plate and it is the perfect amount of food. With lunch done, it's time for our first drinks of the day. To the Red Frog Pub we go. I am a fan of the Thirsty Red. Very nice beer on tap for a reasonable price. We tried a flight of rum and DW loved the Cruzan Pineapple infused rum. New drink in town!!! Watched a beautiful sunset from the balcony: Uneventful dinner and we decided to gamble because there was no comedian. We did love listening to the Mambo Kings in the atrium. It seems they played all the time and were excellent. Sock Monkey is very popular: Edited February 3, 2015 by Cruzface
