What kind of fish are the Fish n Chips?

Sorry, it wasn't good last month, on Liberty. I think it's been changed. It was hot, just cooked to our order, but greasy and too fishy for me. Always, in the past, it has been lightly battered with some herbs in it. This time, heavy batter.

I also think it is pollock, which is kind of like cod, just not as thick, or quite as good as cod, but ok. I enjoyed it once, and another time not so much, but I also once enjoyed the fried oysters, yet another time not so much. I do however love the calamari fritters, and the ceviche. Bouillabaisse is also acceptable. Tuna/watermelon thingy has also been good.

That's why they call it Fish and Chips and not Cod and Chips or Pollock and Chips - it could be anything in there. Just like another U.K. delicasy, Haggis, it's better if you don't think too much about what's inside - just dig in and enjoy!:D

I can't tell you what it is, but I know it is definitely not halibut.

If you want the best fresh Halibut fish and chips, jump on the Legend in early May in Seattle and ride it to Juneau, Alaska. Get off the ship and go down town to The Red Dog Saloon. We have done it 4 times (3 on the Spirit and 1 on the Miracle) and it is even better each time you do it.

I just looked at their menu and it says they use Alaskan Rockfish for their F&C.

But I still book marked it.

It's fish the crew catches off the back of the ship while in port.

If that is truly the case, I would expect it to be Flying Fish. Which BTW was quite tasty when we were in Barbados on the Celebrity Summit. Though not sure it would go well as fish and chips, they had it in a spicy breading on a Flying Fish Sandwich.
