On Demand TV

I remember one movie I had wanted to see a few years ago. Because of when the movie was scheduled vs when we were in the cabin, I ended up seeing over three viewing sessions the middle first, the end second, and the beginning third.

LOL! I thought I was the only one who did that! :) Of course, there is always "The Love Boat." ;)

I really enjoyed the on demand TV on the Royal. Great selection of shows and movies and as others have said, you can watch a bit and pick up where you left off later on.

We enjoyed it on the Regal and loved it! Loved the idea that you could stop and pick it up later as well!

We've never been on a Princess ship that has this yet, but one thing I really enjoy on Celebrity ships is that I can start watching a movie (on demand) and it remembers where I left off so I can pick it up later. I tend to do this while my wife is getting ready in the morning or for bed. I can typically watch half hour to 45 minutes at a time and it's super convenient to knock off a movie that she doesn't care about ... and kind of a great way to relax.

It's nice to hear that Princess is picking up on this idea.

Does On Demand include tv shows as well as movies? What channels are included? Thanks

The only live programming is sports & news except for some special programs such as the Academy Awards.

There are some prerecorded repeats of TV series however nothing live.

They will also show the Super Bowl. (How strange that I have been on several cruisse during the Super Bowl...)

I have twice cruised on the Royal, and I love the system. I wrote about it in my last two live froms. On the first Royal cruise, the system came in very handy, as I had a pretty bad cold (think- "man cold"), and I could start and stop frequently.

I've read that it's supposed to be fleet wide by the end of the year but I don't think I'll hold my breath. We board Coral on Monday and I haven't heard anything about the feature being available on that ship yet.

We're going on the Royal next month and I was curious if the movie Frozen is on demand. It's my toddlers new obsession and if it's not onboard I'm probably gonna have to put it in my Kindle.

It has been on MUTS, so the answer is probably yes.

I enjoy having the old Loveboat shows on the tv while getting dressed. So many big stars were on that show and many young stars got their exposure on the show. I was on the Regal's b2b inaugural cruises last November and it was a thrill to see the original Loveboat cast.
