Captain Carnival Posted April 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2015 Just an FYI that effective on Thursday, April 23rd Carnival Cruise Line will no longer be operating out of Cruise Terminal 2 but moving to Cruise Terminal 3. This is not a drastic change per se, however knowing where to go in advance might be of assistance to you now. That also means for those of you who are sailing aboard the Carnival Paradise this Saturday, April 18th you will set sail from Terminal 2 however you shall return and debark at Terminal 3. Once again not a big move just a bigger terminal - see you all there!!
rolaur Posted April 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2015 Nice. Terminal 3 is much nicer than 2. And better organized.

2Shoes2Go Posted April 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2015 The valet parking (which we Love), is easier at this terminal. Just hand over keys and pay at desk, then straight up escalator to entrance. It is a better terminal, for us. :) Do you have to truck down the street from garage across the street, if you self park? :(
kicia Posted April 16, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2015 Is a change to a larger terminal indicative of any changes to ships that may be coming? Can't wait for the Tampa announcements.
tamirpr Posted April 16, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 16, 2015 This is good news for me. On my way to work, now I will be able to see the fan tail from Columbus instead of waiting all the way to Ybor. :D
Rare orville99 Posted April 16, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) I wonder if they moved so they could do a refurb/expansion of T2 while T3 was open and available (RCL, NCL, and HAL are all gone for the summer season). We are sailing on the Brilliance of the Seas on Sat. april 25, and have all documents in hand showing our normal pier which is Terminal 3, 815 Channelside Drive. Also checked with the Royal carribean Crown & Anchor desk and they advise we will load and unload as normal at Pier 3. She will be departing again on APril 30th to May 4th. The afternoon of May 4 she will depart for a 14 day repo to England and be there until late fall. This will be probably the first dates that Carnival will move on the weekend after her European departure. Bob
Velvetwater Posted April 16, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 16, 2015 Anyone have pics of terminal 3 inside? You may want to ask this or research with the NCL lot as the NCL Dawn sailed from there early this year and it might have been the Sun/Star that sailed last year. Bob As long as the arrival and departure dates don't overlap, this will not be an issue as multiple cruise lines use both terminals depending on schedules. tbjl24 Posted April 16, 2015 #11 Share Posted April 16, 2015 Is a change to a larger terminal indicative of any changes to ships that may be coming? Can't wait for the Tampa announcements. The not so secret word on the street was that Carnival had wanted Terminal #3 for quite some time but the port wouldn't make the switch. In the meantime, Carnival pulled year round 7 day sailings from Tampa and have since only had a Fantasy class ship......one of the least desirable in terms of latest amenities, for year round sailings. I would say this move to Terminal 3 is very indicative that the Port of Tampa is ready for Carnival to bring back year round 7 day sailings. The port bluffed, Carnival callled, and here we are today. Waiting for that final round of dancing announcements!!!!
Captain Carnival Posted April 16, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted April 16, 2015 Just further FYI....both RCCL and Carnival will both be sharing Terminal 3 until RCCL leave Tampa for the season on May 4th; there shouldn't be any conflicts as their schedules do not overlap on the same days. braveslake Posted April 17, 2015 #16 Share Posted April 17, 2015 How does this impact someone who will be picking up arriving cruisers on the Paradise on April 24? Is there a different pickup spot? Thanks in advance for you help.
Vmalcolm Posted April 17, 2015 #17 Share Posted April 17, 2015 Thanks so much for the info and pictures. We are sailing on the Paradise this Saturday. Debating on using Valet parking. I'm familiar with the old terminal, but how far a walk will it be from the parking garage to the new terminal?

Although the walk from the garage to terminal 2 is literally just crossing the street the walk from the garage to terminal 3 isn't really too bad; 3-minutes tops. gtalum Posted April 17, 2015 #19 Share Posted April 17, 2015 This is definitely a positive change for Carnival cruisers. The change of terminal is no big deal for those cruising during the transition. As the map shows, it's right next door to terminal 2 and right across the street from the garage. For those picking up, no big deal because everything is signed very clearly.

For those picking up, no big deal because everything is signed very clearly. It's not right next door. There is a massive aquarium in between the two. It's easily two football fields away. From the parking garage it's maybe 5 minutes and if you use outside parking on Channelside Drive you will be across the street from Terminal 3 or
