Rare Alphen Posted May 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2015 Here is a short video of some of the building progress on Koningsdam by the official builder, Fincantieri.
InTheWASide Posted May 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2015 Nice. Especially since HAL seems all but allergic to marketing their new ship

ger_77 Posted May 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2015 I like the video - it's like doing a 3-D jigsaw puzzle and coming up with a beautiful ship at the end. Thanks for sharing this! Smooth Sailing ! :) :) :)

freestyling Posted May 6, 2015 #8 Share Posted May 6, 2015 I liked the video. So surprising that there is more info about this ship from sources other then HAL a very different marketing approach :D. Thanks for sharing
Rare Vict0riann Posted May 6, 2015 #9 Share Posted May 6, 2015 Very interesting. But is she already christened?
Rare Alphen Posted May 6, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted May 6, 2015 Very interesting. But is she already christened? As far as I know, there can be two separate ceremony’s as is the case with Koningsdam. There has been a name giving ceremony at the moment the ship floated for the first time, but this is not the official christening ceremony, that will take place later in May 2016 by a not yet disclosed person. InTheWASide Posted May 6, 2015 #11 Share Posted May 6, 2015 Very interesting. But is she already christened? it's odd they broke the champagne against the name, but that was simply the float out ceremony and the, I believe the term is, "madrona"? I'm sure if the spelling is incorrect someone will clear it up
jhannah Posted May 6, 2015 #12 Share Posted May 6, 2015 Thanks for sharing the link. I'm anxious to see how the atrium presents itself in "real life" vs. graphic representation. Looks like it would take some getting used to.
sevenseasnomad Posted May 6, 2015 #13 Share Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) Looks like she's coming together beautifully. Thanks for the video. Strange that the atrium area represents a classical quartet. Does this mean we're going to be treated again to Adagio Strings? Oh, how I wish that were true. Does this mean we're going to be treated again to Adagio Strings? Oh, how I wish that were true. Check the releases re: the connections to Lincoln Center Stage. They have definitely hinted that there's going to be more of a classical focus in that area. Only time will tell but for classical music enthusiasts it sounds promising. Rare LAFFNVEGAS Posted May 6, 2015 #16 Share Posted May 6, 2015 I too really liked the video, hoping HAL will start hyping this up really soon since we are now less than a year away. :) I am just waiting to be able to book Air to do her Premier Sailing ;)

rkacruiser Posted May 7, 2015 #18 Share Posted May 7, 2015 I, too, enjoyed seeing this video as well as the one that followed. The Dining Room decor is too much like Celebrity Solstice Class. An original concept for HAL, but not "original".
