A little about the ship:

Enjoyed the Playlist Productions, Epic Rock, The Brits and Studio VIP. Motor City had to be cancelled due to technical issues that the main theater was experiencing. No big deal, they worked overnight to fix the issues.

Steakhouse is so worth the money for the food and the service you receive, if you go the 1st or 2nd night you get free wine.

Seaday Brunch, now I can say that I've done it, wont be disappointed if I miss it next cruise.

Debarkation, we used the Platinum Zone 1 and were called right at 8 am to debark the ship, we still had to fill out a customs card even tough we cleared customs in Canada getting on the ship, no big deal, they did not even look at the card and waived us on.

Port was not prepared, we had to wait in a taxi line for 30 plus minutes to get a cab to the Hyatt at Olive 8. Great hotel, would stay here again. Room was ready and we were able to check in, they brought all the bags and a walking map of the area up to us. We then set out to explore Seattle, Pike Place Market, Underground Tour and the Space Needle.

Please ask if you have any questions that I can try to answer. I can't wait to do this cruise for a 3rd time. I can say I really enjoyed this one better than the first time.

Beautiful shots! My daughter and I will be on the Legend on the June 16 sailing and I am enjoying your review so far. I think you even show our balcony in one of your earlier pictures.

Hey MAL4, are you in Facebook group?

Thank you again for your exquisite photos!

I've noticed that Legend is docked at one of the more remote berths in Juneau. I remember a shuttle from that location; is it still there? Is there a charge for it?

Thanks!

We were docked at the berth next to Mount Roberts Tram Way not the one way out that required the shuttle bus.

No we weren't, we were at the South Franklin Dock. I was on the same cruise. This dock, a 5 minute walk to- the dock next to the Tram- called the Cruise ship Terminal, D on the map. No shuttle service from dock B- South Franklin.

Did not seem like a 5 minutes walk. We sure as heck were not docked all the way out at the floating dock that did require a shuttle like we were in 2012.

Thank you, that's what I saw on the port cam. I wonder if they are doing some work on the Cruise Ship Terminal dock because Legend was at B and the much smaller Seven Seas Navigator was at A.

I have been at that berth before and we had a shuttle. I'm sure it's just a five minute walk to the tram for able-bodied passengers but not so much for mobility impaired cruisers like me, so it's a bit disappointing.

Thanks again!

Embarkation Day:

Worst embarkation experience in 14 cruises. May just be the process in Vancouver? Not sure. There was also a NCL ship in port due to leave. Everyone, regardless of what ship you are going on in directed down a hallway, then through the maze to to go through security, cool now we are getting somewhere. Wrong, then everyone, again, directed upstairs to wait through another maze to be cleared through US Customs. Finally, once cleared by customs, you are directed to the specific ship you are boarding. All in all the process from dropping bags, security, clearing customs and getting our S&S cards to walking on the ship, was over 1 hour. And if you think you need them, they sell binoculars in the cruise terminal. (Hint they are cheaper on the ship)

Agree that Vancouver is an exceptional city. Did a flu cruise to there a few years ago so we didn't have to embark but from the street to the ship was a marathon. Been to a lot of piers but nothing like Vancouver, we walked forever.

That is the AJ dock, which has very efficient shuttle service.

Thank you for posting the review! I was with you on the cruise - I took pictures at the meet and greet :p - and it was wonderful to go back thru it all with you this way. Your pictures are so good and I loved your choices for posting.

I was one of those that had Alaska cruising on the bottom of bucket list - but fate intervened and Moma had it at the top of hers - so a Mother/Seester cruise was born! And I am soooo glad it was! One of my top 3 cruises!!

Thanks to BudgetQueen and several others, especially Jennifer B, for all the great information and advice.

We did a few things different than the poster of this review, and I will post them below. I wish we would have had time to do a couple of things he did too!!! :D

Just FYI -

Juneau - we did Fishing, Whale Watching, and Wildlife Expedition...And went to Mendenhall Glacier (did the 40 minute walk)... then back to town for Red Dog Saloon and Tracy's King Crab Shack food.

Skagway - Rented a minivan from Avis for 6 people, bought and downloaded Murrays Guide off the internet and followed it up the Klondike Highway to Carcross. Awwwwwwesome! Some people say you can see a lot of the same views as the White Pass Train...of course, we just took our time doing it.

Ketchikan - Island Wings Floatplane to Misty Monument Fjords and back to town for the Lumberjack Show. Never made it to Creek Street - Dang! Guess we gotta go back!!! :D:D

We also did the small boat excursion in Tracy Arm Fjord - definitely worth the money!

Thanks again for the review! Maybe we will see you next time! Gotta take my hubby back to see all he missed! LOL!

Sheila
