Azamara Club Cruises Reveals Extensive Changes for its Two Ships

There is a rumour on the Roll Call for my cruise (coming from someone who has recently been on Quest) that they are not going to go ahead with Kibo. You will notice that it does not form part of the video.

Personally, I am treating this rumour with caution until the full details are known, but it does seem to indicate that the largely negative feedback has been heard by HO.

Hi Minz,

I'm unable to confirm the Kibo rumors (I've heard them too), but one thing is for certain... over the years, Larry Pimentel and his management team has done a wonderful job of listening to what their guests have to say. So many other cruise lines give their guests lip service, or non-replies when making suggestions and comments. That's certainly not the case with Azamara.

I suppose we'll have to wait a bit longer to see if this rumor turns out to be true. *If* so, I believe most of the Azamara faithful will be very pleased. Would be nice if the Kibo menu might appear elsewhere on the ships, from time to time. IMO, Kibo doesn't necessarily need to be a dedicated venue.

I like to see the menu at the pool grill lat night or Prime C on long cruises.. always nice to eat Asian spicy food.

Yes, I agree about having Asian food available at one or other of the venues on some evenings. Hopefully it will happen.

We will also be very disappointed if our favourite outdoor area is replaced by a specialty Asian restaurant. The two existing specialty restaurants need revamping. On our last cruise we cancelled our second booking at Prime C because the menu never changes. Aquilina is also a bit hit and miss, one night it was fantastic, the next night it was ordinary.....

Don't take away our wonderful outdoor dining option....it is why we loved Azamara so much....a casual meal at the back of Deck 9 with the ocean streaming out behind is one of the absolute treasures of sailing.......

Agree 200%(if that were possible!)! This can't be said enough(in MHO):)

That is heartening news and the best compromise . Let's hope this is the intended plan now. The aft deck at Windows is a unique and special place for many Azamara devotees. Maybe they are listening to the majority and if so thank you to the powers that be. Hopefully now I can start planning for many more wonderful cruises on my favourite cruise line.

Really hope this is the news we have all been waiting to hear. We have our sights set on 3/4 cruises for next year, but I am waiting until the revamp changes are finally confirmed before we commit!

I hope Azamara are listening, if not, they are not the company I thought they were and that is a real shame.

Much as though I welcome what may be good news from UKTog, I remain sceptical about Azamara management changing their minds because of our representations although they may have realised that it is a flawed concept to have an upscale at cost restaurant outdoors and subject to the vagaries of weather on ships which journey to areas with uncertain weather, whilst delivering significant and welcome design changes to the undercover pool grill area.

We rejoin Quest shortly on what sadly may be our final Azamara cruise, after being loyal and regular repeat passengers, if the changes do go ahead and our favourite dining and socialising venue is no longer available to us.

Likewise I have to agree about the conflict with seeking to create an upscale brand which has huge customer support but which continues with art auctions, upselling, chargeable restaurants, and a restricted bar menu which grates with the brand ambition and is at odds with the immediate and growing competition.

The concern over the outdoors area at Windows has been well expressed on this forum which apparently Azamara monitor so perhaps it is now time for Mr P. or senior management to clarify if the changes are going ahead or not, and as per my heading, "why not ask the question Bonnie"

I appreciate the positive thinking, but I am a bit confused. The revamp of the pool grill with making it into an evening dining venue, also, has been stated in the "plan" from the beginning. As I recall, someone stated that using it for evenings was to satisfy the loss of the Windows sunset outside dining area for those of us who love eating outside! There was a discussion on how sitting in the pool area with air above us would be nice, but definitely not the same as looking at the water, wake, wildlife and sunset outside! So is this info different? Thank you

Today we are 'revealing' more photos of the accommodations on our Azamara Club Cruises website. I want to thank you for your patience!

https://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/i...terooms-suites

Here's a bit of the announcement hitting the press today:

"The Club World Ocean and Owner’s Suites will undergo major revitalizations. Coffee tables, consoles and dining tables will be replaced with modern furnishings with an updated style and overall feel. The sound and lighting systems will also be updated in order to make the overall mood much more inviting and relaxing. Additionally, the bathrooms will get an overhaul making them larger and a much more efficient use of space. Guests will enjoy all of the new amenities while relaxing before dinner or preparing for another day of touring in the next amazing destination.

The Club Continent Suites will have a top to bottom refresh that includes new drapes, fabrics and furnishings. Guests will feel truly relaxed and refreshed waking up each day onboard in these deluxe staterooms.

The Spa Suites will be two brand new additions to both ships. These suites will be built adjacent to the Sanctum Spa and will feature an elegant look with organic and muted colors. The bathroom shower and tub will have a view of the water, giving guests the opportunity to experience a breathtaking view when relaxing in their shower or tub. Guests who are staying in these suites will also have exclusive access to unique spa amenities that will be included in the price of these staterooms.

In all other staterooms, guests will see new blackout curtains, bed linens, furniture, carpeting, lighting, and a complete bathroom modernization. These updates will give guests a better experience on-board Azamara and will only add to an exciting and enriching travel experience."

I guess I am not doing something right; I see "renderings" and part of it is blocked out by a blue space that I can't do away with. There is only one of these renderings per accommodation, should I be seeing more?

Hi Pam,

When you scroll over those blue blocks of space, they should 'reveal' themselves from the top right corner downwards. Does that not work on your computer / device??

Pam, I see at least 2 renderings per cabin type,by clicking on the arrows within pictures.

Thanx, Bonnie. It looks like dining is next?

Oops! I wasn't talking about the thing that peels down from the corner, I was looking at the next "layer". The picture behind the blue half-screen cover for the Club Continent Suite doesn't look the same as the pictures that you get with the arrows; it shows the little sofa. The pictures with the arrows are something we have seen all along, aren't they? I thought Bonnie said they were revealing photos, those are still labeled as renderings, and they say the renderings are not accurate.

AH! Cat, that is why I was so confused.

You're right about the picture not being what it's labeled, for the Club Continent suite. I do see a couple pictures tho that I don't think I saw before. At least the presentation is new! :-)

These look like the same images someone posted last week as a video. Nothing new. I agree, the Club Continent Suite depiction is the same as the Verandah pic. No changes to the bathrooms or the furniture from the original pics. We are delighted the ships are being updated, but if these pictures hold true, most of the feedback was not considered. Bonnie, could you enlighten us? Thanks!

"Please note: Images are renderings only and do not accurately reflect the decor onboard."

Which is why I questioned if I was looking at the correct place; Bonnie said photos and we had seen those renderings a few times. I am NOT being negative, I am excited about my cruise, but if there is something new out there, I definitely want to see it.
