CAS cruises can not be booked on board.

Harriet

Wouldn't that be great if we could book CAS onboard? With this, I would imagine the cruise consultant on the larger ships will be really busy helping people book their next cruise.

Looks like if you buy 2-4 certificates you will get $125.00 OBC for each one to be used on the cruise you are on. Versus $100.00 you used to get when purchasing multiple certificates

I didn't catch that, thanks.

I am a bit annoyed that they do not introduce it at the same time fleet wide. No idea why I should buy FCR on the Star in June after reading that.

Well ... perhaps, maybe they have a long line of land-based PCC eager to work on the ships for 7 days or longer at a time, essentially becoming residents at sea and trying to schedule them all in. Or, re-training the crew from other duties to become floating PCC to do bookings on board. :D

Between these deals and the 50% Reduced Deposits all month long (another spam mail this morning .... wasn't that supposed to be for a limited time only last month ??) and the Latitude Double Points for select sailings - they must be doing fine, or NOT ?? ;) Just saying.

When I call CAS they always put me on hold and check my play on the last cruise I took. If I'm on this cruise, from the play of my last cruise, how can they check what I'm eligible for UNTIL I finish the cruise I'm currently on?

Hold the phone here! This increased OBC was hyped on my May Getaway, and there was no mention of any new limitations, such as only one change. I've been buying FCC for years on NCL, and I do change my mind, but it's never been an issue. Plus, I met a fellow cruiser who was giving them as gifts to her children. If they're not transferable, what's the point?

I just purchased 2 FCC on the Getaway last week. Got the increased OBC but no mention of anything else. The certificate is exactly the same as it has been. It is transferable. Never saw a PCC onboard or listed in any of the freestyle dailies. Debbie

did u read the .pdf in the OP?

the 1 change limit is for cruisenext Ultimate, not the regular cruisenext/fcc

I'm going to guess you won't be able to as any CAS booking, either through past cruises or land based casino must go through CAS and I'm guessing they won't have a CAS representative on board.

I'm cruising on Sunday so will check it our for sure to see what the story is in regard to free or discounted CAS cruises and land casino cruises.

They definitely need to clarify whether if you book on the ship you get one of those offers in addition to the choice on the current promo. If the two offers can't be combined there is really no incentive to actually book your next cruise on the ship. But if I can get one choice for booking on the ship and another choice with the current promo then it's a great deal and I can see a lot of people taking advantage of it.

With only one free change of reservation it actually becomes less advantageous to book early on the ship. I rebooked my last cruise 3 times before final payment to take advantage of price drops and better promos.

It would sure as heck benefit those sailing during times there was no other good promo being offered, right? It's not like the crazy good promos happen every single day.

Since it doesn't go into effect until 6/6 on that ship, there is no reason to assume the way it worked on your cruise is the exact way it is going to work. Maybe only parts were in place, but not all? That would be my guess.

Unless you can get these perks when booking an inside or studio while onboard.

On the May 2 BA, they said they were testing it out and that you had to buy the FCC on board. It was explained most nights by the cruise director at shows. For seven day and above cruises, and you got whatever promotion since the OBC is used on current cruise.

On the bottom of the Flyer where you fill out the info for the CruiseNext Ultimate why would there be a place to fill in a reservation number? Isn't that for where you would put the sail date & ship of the cruise you are wanting to book with your deposit, for which you would not already have a reservation number?

For CruiseNext ULTIMATE I think the onboard cruise consultant books it for you right then so is able to give you your reservation number right then just as email confirmations usually do when you book.

Add'l FYI -

most season NCL satellite/WiFi internet users know this (should) - access to the ncl dot com website on the ships are always free, you can use it to check itineraries and even log into your own MyNCL account to review - it's always faster using the ship's "dumb" PC terminal (older but speed is fastest as it's hard wired and not duplex in wireless mode) It would still freeze at times and often with pricing, it just timed out - strange but true, even with the much faster BA/GA ship's newest hardware running.

Who knows, perhaps might run into the real PCC one has been working with while sailing on the ship. Ten+ years ago, one could made an appointment and sit down with the onboard Latitude consultant and book a future sailing, do the FCC, and then part of it discontinued - now, it's back again.
