Oasis Table For Two

Recommended Posts

Considering requesting a table for two in the main dining room on the Oasis but I hear they are all in one section with only inches between the tables. Very little privacy :(

Is this true? Does anyone have any pictures they can post? Thanks in advance.

Unless you drool profusely, the separation is sufficient. Be friendly!

Yes...the 2-tops are close together...you're supposed to be in a friendly mode on the ship...talk to others!!

I'll try to be a little more helpful for you.

You can request a table for two. I did it on our last Oasis cruise. Not knowing if you have MTD or traditional, I can't say where your table assignment would be. We had MTD last time, and I had made dinner reservations for each night on the Cruise Planner - all dinner times were between 6pm and 7pm. I had heard (read on CC) that the tables for 2 were close together, and I wasn't keen on being jammed in between two other tables. And unlike some, I don't much enjoy forcing conversation with strangers. My husband and I like to have private table conversations. We enjoy dinner time to talk - to each other.

For our last cruise, since we had MTD, I knew I would be on the top floor of the MDR. I also knew there was an open atrium running down the center of the dining room from the top to the bottom floor. A few weeks prior to our cruise, I emailed the dining staff (rcldining@rccl.com) and requested a "table for 2 near the railing of the atrium". When we arrived in our cabin on embarkation day there was a message on the phone from the Dining Room asking us to come to Deck 5 MDR and select our table. Based on what I'd requested, they had selected a table for us and wanted us to confirm it met our needs. It did, and we had that table the entire week. It was lovely - and there wasn't another table butted up to us. We were able to talk privately to each other, and were able to see down to the two floors below. Perfect location!

We were on in May. We requested the 6pm seating with table for 2. I think the name of the dining room we were assigned to was the Grande right across from the entrance to the Casino. We were seated next to the rail overlooking the other dining rooms below. There were no tables next to us, only other tables for 2 along the same rail. This was exactly what we wanted and our wait staff could not have been any better. Hope that helps.

The photo below is not from Oasis but the proximity of the two-top tables is pretty much like what you see in this photo:

On our Radiance cruise last month, we too had a two-top next to the railing overlooking the lower deck dining room and it was quite nice - we requested we be assigned to it every night and were obliged by the MDR staff.

We are sailing on Jewel in October & I would like to request a table for 2 for DH & myself on the rail. We are signed up for MTD. Who would I speak to pre-cruise to make our request?

Thanks for any help & advice!

In post #3 above, Sherri914 posted an RCI email address to which to send a request like this.

Yes that pic confirmed pretty much what I saw in Tides on Jewel of the Seas. Very crowded and small, compared to the fact that Carnival Breeze's dining room (Sapphire) was spacious. Guess it will be same as pictured when I will be aboard Oasis in December.
