Looks like they included the extra 6 months again this year when calculating pts.  Or they just reused last years letter and forgot to change it...

I didn't even notice that when I got mine.  I suspect it's a holdover from last year's.

Just booked my Prime annual cruise, March 8th 2020 on the Harmony (Kids spring break). Looks like they're still stacking the kids sail free promo like the Alaska cruise I booked last week from a Casino offer. I always thought they don't stack but guess I'm wrong. This helps me tremendously with two kids.

It does say following this initial "renewal" period.  This is the first renewal of the tiers program.  I'm not complaining.  I got my Signature again.

I've been reading on another site that they are not discounting the [casino comp] upgrades this year the same way they did last year.  Has anyone tried to upgrade their casino comp and found that the % discount on the upgraded cruise fare is significantly less than it was last year ?

Wow, this is the board I've been looking for!  I have several questions and have found some answers by looking back but included them here.  Hoping everyone can help answer.  For reference, I earned Prime on a cruise in 5/18.  I called today to have a the casino discount added to an existing reservation and was told I had a free cruise for 2.  So I applied it to a March 2020 cruise and did an upgrade to a suite.

Questions:

1.  I assume I am prime for 4/1/19 - 3/31/20.  I didn't receive any emails about this and I don't see the "Annual Cruise Credit" on the website.  I believe I already redeemed it, so I'm wondering if the offer disappears once I use it or not?

2.  Since I didn't get an email about my tier and annual cruise...how do I know what cruises/ships I can use my Annual Cruise on?

3. I only receive Casino Offers via email, but nothing about my tier or account.  Is this normal or should I contact them about this issue?  If so, can anyone provide me an email address for club royale?  Waiting on hold 20 minutes every call is getting old :)

4. I used my interior comp from the annual cruise and upgraded to a suite.  Will I receive C&A points?

5.  If I don't earn 2500 on my March 2020 cruise, will my status still be Prime and will I keep earning a free cruise each year?  Or do I need to earn 2500 on my March 2020 to keep my tier and benefits?

They are absolutely not discounting the upgrades the same as last year. I just booked my free balcony and put it together with my husbands free inside to get a comped Junior Suite. The upgrade to a grand suite had no discount at all. I told the rep that this price doesn't seem right and she said it was. What site were you on where they were talking about this?

Actually it’s

“Not applicable to sailings longer than 8 nights”.

So it includes 8 night cruises. I just used mine for a 8 night.

Yes I’m aware. That is what I intended, but put days versus nights.

1. Seems to have disappeared after I used it

2. Any cruise up to 8 nights (excluding major holiday) - terms could change every year, which is why they didn't want to book me until the offer is out

3. Don't think they show the tier in the emails/offers

4. You will get C&A points, the question is whether you get the points for suite or not, right?

5. You have to earn 2500 by 3/31/20 or you will no longer be prime as of 4/1/20 and won't get the free cruise

I’m not sure what the discounts were before, as I usually do not upgrade, but this year was upgraded on a comp cruise from inside to balcony for $73 for a four night. I didn’t think that was a bad price.

Earlier this year I also upgrade at great prices. A junior suite to an owners suite for under $800 on Anthem of the Seas. But what I'm saying is that today, I called for my free tier cruise and there was no discount to upgrade. The price was $3000 to upgrade from a comped Junior Suite to a Grand Suite. I even called back and got another rep and was quoted the same price.

I did get a good price either when recently upgrading an inside certificate to an obstructive balcony cabin.  It actually worked out cheaper using the $500 off and the C & A solo rate.

The offers definitely disappear after you use them.  This week Hubby and I have used the Summer Sizzle, Tax day one, and the Tier cruise and they are no longer showing on the site under our IDs,

You definitely get double pts if you upgrade to a Suite.  We upgraded our interior Tier offers on our Nov 2018 and March 2019 sailings to a Crown Loft and received the double pts.

Thank you!  #4 - Was just curious about getting points at all.  I believe we will get double C&A points on this comp cruise that we upgraded on because it's a suite.

Also, 1 more.  I know it says "up to 8 nights".  If we book a 9 night, can we get a $ off instead of comp?

Depending on what level you are you will get a discount.  Mine would have been $500 off (Prime).  It should say the trade in value on the site

1.Unless you booked in the last 24 hours there is no way you used your tier certificate.

you will need to call to verify your tier status.

5. you need 2500 points between 4/1/19 and 3/31/20  that can all be from 1 cruise or spread over many.

if you do not earn 2500 during the year you will not be prime for the following year.

now to get the most "bang" for the buck it appears you are best off getting all 2500 on a single cruise as then you will also earn a free cruise from that ships casino as well as the yearly Prime tier cruise.

this is what I did on my march Symphony cruise.

UGH.  Not good.  I'm just glad that I had already upgraded all of my comped cruises.  I guess this will be the end for me.  IF they aren't allowing us to use a casino rate to upgrade our comps then I will be free to explore different lines.  I only stayed with Royal b/c of the great deals but if they are gone, likely I will be too.

It's amazing to me (not in a bad way) what is important to some vs. others. I enjoy inside cabins just fine,  and some will absolutely not cruise unless they are in a balcony or higher. Nothing wrong with that... just interesting.

Well, when I retire and I am on a fixed income, I will probably need to book inside cabins if I want to keep cruising and gambling!

So I finally saw the Prime offer on my account last night then applied it to my sailing next March. When you use the dollar off offers, they price it based off of the public rates you find on the website. A few years back, you would still get a better casino rate as well as your dollars off so it was still a good deal. I booked an ocean balcony with kids sail free on harmony for March which came to around $2800 after $500 casino discount. This price was exactly the same as if I had completed the checkout on the website then subtracted $500. After applying my Prime offer, I was able to upgrade to a junior suite for only $2010 total. So a Junior suite ended up costing me less. After looking at the breakdown, when you take a comped cruise, you get a better cruise fare plus additional discounts applied based on tier.

So comped cruises not only enjoy a lower base fare price, also receive additional discounts based on tier. Dollar off offers are hot garbage as long as it’s only a discount against the publicly advertised fares.

UPGRADES

A few months back I phoned in to see about an upgrade. The agent checked JS and GS. The GS was less than JS. The agent and I could only assume the "computer" wanted to sell that GS cabin. I told my wife. She decided balcony was fine with her versus paying the $ 1000 quote for the upgrade.

One never knows.

Hello, I know I should know the answer to this question but I am having a brain freeze.  I received my complimentary cruise it says it expires 4/30/19.  My question is do I have to book and take the cruise by end of year or can I book the cruise for next year.

Booked the 50th Birthday cruise with Laura's Prime cert. Had to spend $140 to upgrade to CP View. While there I booked the week prior as well. They let me use an FCC that expires end of month.  That was appreciated.

Also booked the tax day cert for Freedom in September.   Did have to spend $23  to get deck 9 midship

What kind of cabin did you good for the tax day cert, Freedom in Sept?  My hubby has that offer and are trying to decide on dates before we call.
