B2B Changing Cabins

We are looking at booking a B2B and the two weeks we want only have one cabin available for both weeks. It is at the front of the ship which we don't care for. Question is, if we book two separate cabins (one for each week) on the ship will we have to take our luggage off the ship or would there be a place to store it until our 2nd cabin is ready for the 2nd week? We were hoping to not have to move and that's still an option. Just looking to see what others have done on a B2B.

Which ship/line? We have done a few B2B cruises and they are wonderful. On Royal Caribbean, if you are changing cabins, you pack up everything in your suitcases (except the clothes hanging in your closet - those will be transferred to a wheeler like hotel bellmen use), and the cabin steward will move your items for you. You should have access to your second cabin since you are consecutive cruisers; just let the stewards know that you are B2B and they will let you pass.

A full list of printed instructions will be delivered to your cabin, plus you will attend a meeting so that staff can explain the procedure to you. A crew member will escort your group off the ship to "check out" with your old Sea Pass card, and then back on again with your new card.

B2B cruises are amazing, and if possible, of course it is preferred to have the same cabin for both legs. Understandably, this is not always possible but you certainly don't have to worry about anything. You will be taken care of. :)

You will not have to take your luggage off the ship. Your stewards will help you move. They will bring a rolling rack for your hanging clothes and on many ships the drawers are interchangeable so they will swap the filled ones into the place of the empty ones. All you will have to put in a bag are bathroom items and anything on your counters.

We always had the same cabin for all our b-to-b's as we would only book for segments where we didn't have to move. If we were going to move, during the first cruise, I would introduce myself to the steward we will have for the next segment and seek his help and advice as to what time he plans to have our ready for us to move into. If you are particularly pleasant and understanding of how busy turnaround day is for the stewards, he pay get your new cabin ready as soon as he is able. :)

Enjoy. B-to-b's are wonderful!

Thanks everyone that is all great information and gives me some relief. It would be on RC. Our first cruise was last year for one week leaving Orlando, we live in Vancouver, BC. We decided that since we are already paying for the airfare we should make the most out of it and do a B2B.

Thanks again

I had to change cabins on my last B2B, but it was only across the hall and down 2 doors.

My cabin steward moved all my packed cloths and hanging cloths while I was out doing turn around.

When we have had to change cabins on a B2B, it is easy. Your room steward will bring a rolling cart for hang up clothes. Don't empty drawers just take them out and put them on the cart. Drawers are the same size in each cabin so get the empty drawers from your new cabin and put them in your old cabin. I get mugs for bathroom use. (Toothbrushes, tooth paste in one, husbands razor and shaving cream, emery board in other one and one for misc.) The mugs go on the cart too. Also put your empty suitcases there. Sometimes we do this before the B2B meeting, sometimes right after. It doesn't take much time to do this.

While it is never ideal to have to change cabins, most if not all cruise lines will have a steward help you move to your new cabin. You will not have to take your luggage off the ship and you will not even have to fully re-pack.
