Hotels around port everglades

Wife and I are going on Westerdam October 17, 2015 and are curious about hotels with schuttles to port everglades. Should mention looking for good hotels in Fort Lauderdale.

Don't get hung up with the shuttles. Easier to just take a taxi and the price is reasonable.

 

Lots of choices.

 

Embassy Suites

 

Marriott Harbor Beach

 

Lago Mar

 

Hyatt 66

 

And many more.

The shuttles from the hotels are usually around $8 per person. A taxi for you and your wife from one of the hotels near the port will cost no more than $16 (probably less) and you can leave at your own convenience.

We like the Holiday Inn Express and Embassy Suites on 17th St.

 

We arrange for shuttle at front desk the night before- the port is nearby.

 

Both hotels are within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

Renaissance is a very nice hotel just across from the port entrance. I'm sure the concierge can arrange transportation or you can take a taxi for about $10 for the carload. The nicest hotels by the port don't have free shuttles.

It will probably be a bit more (closer to $15) since they're sailing on a Holland America ship and they use the high-numbered berths that take longer to get to.
