paul929207 Posted August 8, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) I believe you can not. If they allow it, the corkage would be about $90. ($15 per 750ml, with first 750 free)./ Edited August 8, 2015 by paul929207
knbcruisers Posted August 8, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2015 I did several years ago but couldn't say now. Maybe if you took it our of the box and packed the plastic bladder in your suitcase? But in my experience you'd just be better off putting a label on a case of regular size bottles and giving to the porters.
f-mattox Posted August 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 9, 2015 Can you bring more than 750 ml of boxed wine aboard Yes, actually you can; but as paul929207 pointed out, the corkage fee is $15.00 per 750 ml, whether it is in bottles or a box. Thrak Posted August 9, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 9, 2015 I remember once bring a box of wine 5 liters and no one ever said anything. That was about 3 years ago Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Three years ago is a long time ago in terms of the wine policy enforcement. Princess used to just look the other way and let you take a case onboard if you wanted. Now they enforce the 1 750ml bottle per person rule. Any more than that and you will be charged for it. rcm95060 Posted August 9, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 9, 2015 The last three years I have sailed Princess and have taken boxed wine on and have had no problems. Each of us in cabin put box in luggage and it was delivered to room.
YWW Posted August 9, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 9, 2015 I remember once bring a box of wine 5 liters and no one ever said anything. That was about 3 years ago They now X-ray everything so they know exactly what you are bringing onboard. We declared one bottle of wine on a recent cruise but they still needed to confirm from the X-ray or inspection. The X-ray showed we had a small bottle of liquid inside our carryon other than the wine, they searched the whole bag and found the culprit--a bottle of mouthwash. They even went further and opened the cap to confirm it was indeed mouthwash. Yup, they were that thorough. 3 years ago, they looked the other way.... not anymore. mysaddlebred000 Posted August 9, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 9, 2015 We ran into a person at Vines one night that we first met while at Total Wines. He said he had a couple boxes of wine and was called down to the naughty room and they took it away. He said they said he could have it back at the end of the cruise. Never saw him after that. Sea Fan Posted August 9, 2015 #10 Share Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) I noticed on the Princess web site under gifts & services you can purchase a small amount of liquor. Will it be in your cabin with no additional fees? SPIRITS Bourbon Jim Beam 375ml bottle Item #2335 $17.25 Crown Royal 375ml bottle Item #2333 $23.00 Jack Daniel's 375ml bottle Item #2334 $27.60 Cognac Courvoisier VSOP 350ml bottle Item #2345 $32.00 Just curious:rolleyes: Edited August 9, 2015 by Sea Fan
cactusrose Posted August 9, 2015 #11 Share Posted August 9, 2015 It won't be in your room when you board but you can just pick up the phone and order the same thing from room service. I believe these prices you listed include the 15% gratuity. It doesn't take them long to deliver.

However, the selection is horrible. I would like a nice 12 year old single malt. If I want bourbon it certainly won't be Jim Beam! The selection of scotch is disgusting. Johnny Walker Red or Cutty Sark. Really? Blech... If Princess would offer decent liquor to purchase for the cabin I think that far fewer people would be tempted to smuggle liquor onboard. I'm too much of a wuss to smuggle - I'm sure my face would give me away - but I can certainly understand people wanting to have a decent drink in their cabin and Princess makes that impossible. I purchase plenty of drinks in the bar (I'm partial to Wheelhouse or, if I'm on a ship that has the venue, Adagio) but I would really like it if they would sell me a decent brand of liquor to have in my cabin as well. You have to call room service to order your purchase and when delivered give them the voucher to pay for it. One caveat is that they cannot deliver it when in most US waters so you can't get it until you are in international waters in most cases in the USA. It can vary depending on the state your ship is leaving. As for the selection, it simply stinks. I prefer a much better selection of gin and bourbon, so it is not an offer to me. I of course would never ever smuggle anything aboard.
kdeans1010 Posted August 9, 2015 #17 Share Posted August 9, 2015 I was wondering about this policy. I wanted to bring a couple cans of Flip Flop wine for my 3 night cruise. victory2020 Posted August 9, 2015 #18 Share Posted August 9, 2015 I just bought a 1 litre carton of wine to bring - figured it would be lighter & less likely to break. I'll be able to bring one for the two of us, correct?
pro76 Posted August 9, 2015 #19 Share Posted August 9, 2015 Can you bring more than 750 ml of boxed wine aboard Last Nov.on the Regal,I packed my frozen wine box in my check on bag.Ended up drinking half of it at the hotel the night before.Tossed it back in my bag and sent it through check in.It was delivered to my room.Problem was I ended up getting the All Inclusive Beverage Package and tossed the cheap stuff in the trash. caribill Posted August 9, 2015 #21 Share Posted August 9, 2015 They now X-ray everything so they know exactly what you are bringing onboard. The wine bottles are supposed to be in your carry-on luggage. They do x-ray the luggage that is not being carried on, but they are probably fixated on looking for bottles and might not notice a box. zogrand Posted August 9, 2015 #22 Share Posted August 9, 2015 We enjoy a good dessert wine in the evening. Available choices are few on Princess. Since it comes in 1/2 bottles, does each bottle count as one or two bottles?

knbcruisers Posted August 9, 2015 #25 Share Posted August 9, 2015 On our 6/10 cruise to Alaska 8 had 2 bottles in our carry on which we had to declare after passing through metal detector. I had 6 bottles boxed and sent with checked luggage which was delivered to our room as it always has in our previous 3 cruises. I don't take a bottle to the dining room this time but was full prepared to pay corkage. I took a glass with me as we went about the ship, ordered a bottle for our Sabatini's dinner and bought a glass if we were in the casino, lounge etc.
