Finally a free cruise!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

not neccessarily....

i have a bounce back offer as well... received it on the Breeze last month... nothing to do with losing in the casino ( i assume this is what you meant when sayig.... " and you paid for it in the casino...)

offers are based on points accummulated on slots or tables. I play slots. The first night i won $1200 and used that to play the entire 8 night cruise. In between there, i won another 320 and 460 different times... in the end, i walked off the ship with more $ than i had when i got on... and a letter offering me a free cruise

its all based on points accummulated,, not losses, or winnings. ( just to clarify so you dont assume anyone receiving a free cruise lost $$$ in the casino, its not the case at all)

on another note, a friend and I got off the Splendor last week.. and she received a free cruise offer. Shes not a gambler usually, but this time she decided she would spend $500 in the casino. Didnt spend her $500,she won and lost won and lost the entire week, to the point she too accumulated enough points for a free cruise. She went home with 327.00, her sign and sail was 320.00

She is now doing 8 night with us in November, with the total cost for herself and her hubby coming in at $1480.00 if she were to pay for it. Instead she is paying taxes and fees, and 110 to upgrade from her free interior to an ocean view.

She too, is in, and did not "pay for it in the casino"

thats just two examples i personally know of in the last month.. i imagine there are many many others out there...

You and your friend may be the exception, but it is obvious that Carnival would not be giving away free cruises to heavy gamblers if anything close to a large percentage of them were winners and the casinos weren't making a nice profit for Carnival. I believe it is accurate to say that most gamblers who are awarded a free cruise have "paid" for them in the Casino.

It is in Carnivals interest to get the winners back into the casino also, they can't get their money back if you aren't in the casino.

Believe it or not, I am several thousand ahead if you take the street value of the free cruises and subtract what I have lost.

Thank you all for the congratulations! We are not big gamblers so we always read these threads in awe at all the various people who got free cruises on the casino! We always show up to each of our ships with $300 and play table games until we lose that balance. This cruise our $300 made it until the last night of the ship! For someone who said we paid for it in the casino, ill pay $300 for a free cruise any day!

Congratulations. May I ask you when your last Carnival cruise was and do you remember how many points you had when you left the ship? I am hoping to get some kind of offer, but I only got about 3,000 points, so I don't believe I will get anything.

Thanks.

We asked for our point total but they told us because we were table players they did not know what our total was. I know at 5,000 you get an automatic drinks on us card when you board, not sure what you get at 3,000. Maybe some cash waiting for you when you board?

I would be hesitant to say that your free cruise is paid for by the amount "lost" in the casino. I would guess it's more time spent. I give myself a $500 limit for the entire cruise, I don't play slots, only blackjack and poker. On my last cruise I never even reached my limit because I hit several good hands on poker and played with the casino's money the rest of the cruise. I definitely left with more than I started playing with.

I have gotten the drinks on us card, and always get several casino offers. My husband does not gamble, therefore he never gets any casino offers. Although he is enjoying the perks of my poker habit lol. But who knows how it's really calculated.

based on slots play:

1500 points gets your drink free card for that cruise you are doing

5000 points get free interior room for two and free drink card for next cruise

20000 points gets you free ocean view plus cash

25000 free balcony plus cash

anything over that youre into the suites

this is from my own experience, i havent paid for my last 8 carnival cruises , 5 of which i have done this year, and four i have booked for the rest of this year... i am paying for the 4 day bahamas one only... and that is beacuase i need those few extra days to get my diamond on the b2b on teh breeze n November.

the longest i received was up to a 12 night cruise, we did an 11 night Hawaii balcony

the best offer i think was free balcony and 1000 cash, on a premier cruise.

the dont allow premiers to be free anymore

All good info, except they still have free premiers.

--->Originally Posted by sassy5683 so if i'm doing my math right you have to spend $12,500 to get 5000 points to get offered a "free" cruise???<---

Yes, correct!!!!

BUT, that $12,500 is $12,500 PLAYED, not necessarily LOST. Let's do some casino math for the shocked and awed crowd. I'll use roulette since that is what I am most familiar, and this will be some loose math based on average statistics.

Carnival's roulette wheel (zero and double zero) has a house edge of 5.26%, meaning for every $100 I bet (using the 1 in 38 chance to win) the casino will end up with $5. According to endless gambling research, people play 5 times the amount they start with at a sitting. So, if I start with $100 playing $10 per spin and keep replaying my winnings I should play $500 and end up with $75 left. If I keep playing my $75 I should play $375 and end up with $56. If I keep playing my $56 I should play $280 and end up with $42...and on and on. If I keep playing until my original $100 is all gone, I should have played $1835.

Based on that, to reach $12,500 of PLAY, I should have spent $700. So, in this example a 5000 point free cruise is NOT $12,500 of cash out your pocket, but $700 (assuming you get the average number of wins and losses). So it is entirely possible for people to say they only had $100 and ended up $200 ahead and still got a free cruise. It's also possible for someone to play $10,000 and be horribly horribly unfortunate and lose every time and not get a free cruise. It's not the win and loss that the casino counts but the amount of PLAY.

Please note this is based on a bunch of established averages and individual results WILL vary.

I have taken 9 Carnival cruises with 2 more booked and only two weren't free cabin offers. I had to pass on 2 free offers earlier this year and have one more go until end of year that I cannot use. Of the 9 taken, I came out ahead by $200-800 on 7 of them. My cruise on the Breeze with the $2 chips I lost $1800. My Valor trip last week I lost $1500. So, for my $3300 in losings (I am not even offsetting it with winnings or counting the value of the free drink card), I have been able to take 9 cruises for just port fees and gratuities. Funny thing is I only ever gamble on the cruise ship. Whatever people think of the "free" cruise thing, there is no way I could take so many cruises without it.

Same here, 5 last year, 5 this year and a 15 day scheduled already for next year.

Agree awesome info on the points breakdown and congrats on your upcoming diamond status.

My cruise in Sep and Nov are premier (interior and 200 cash) and the Ultra in December is the same offer.

Lets hope that wasn't a fluke as I like the "free" rooms. I definitely give it back in the casino most of the time.

i spoke with bunny, senior premier host, madalena, hostess casinno, michael bayona senior supervisor Carnival Casino, and was advised by all three, at different times, pc5 code ( premier) is not combinable with any bbl4 or such bounce back offer. i spoke with these people as i was trying to combine bounceback with premier ( any premier i did in the past was a bounceback). i have been advised it is no longer such that you can use your bounceback offer for a premier cruise

determined to be sure i couldnt, i called carnival to book by bounce back and picked a premier date, the agent advised i could not book a bounce back on any date a premier was offered. I furthered it, as a test by saying, no no i dont want to be part of the premier activities, i want to do the cruise just as a cruise, not as a premier. I was advised ; the bounce back codes do not work on any premier sailing date

so i then called promotions department, carnival, and tried yet again

advised sorry, we no longer combine bouncebacks and premiers, nor will any bounceback code be accepted by the system on any sail date that offers a premier. they cant even do it manually ( they tried)

so actually, its more like 6 people different times who have confirmed, so more combining.

changed some 4-5 months ago

do you have different info, and from who? As i have several premiers i would like to combine with bounceback offers.

All I said was that there are still free premiers, that has nothing to do with bounce backs or combining offers.

Just curious, do the free cruises count towards VIFP status?

Congrats to all that get them, I have terrible casino luck and deposit about $100 per cruise...guess that helps pay for you freeloaders :D
