Chardonnay Char Posted September 16, 2015 #202 Share Posted September 16, 2015 Didn’t I read somewhere that discounts are often offered at special restaurants the first night of the cruise? Where can one find the people offering said discounts. (Thought I saw 30 percent off?)

TeaBag Posted September 16, 2015 #204 Share Posted September 16, 2015 Go to the restaurant you want to eat at and ask them if you can have a discount. Sometimes when the bookings are low, they stand by the entrance to the oceanview buffet.
scifimonkey Posted September 16, 2015 #205 Share Posted September 16, 2015 At $50 it is still marginally cheaper than Epicurean on P&O (£35) so I would say it is worth it as the standard is more or less comparable. Both are a major step above the MDR offer.
MoyCoy Posted September 16, 2015 #206 Share Posted September 16, 2015 Not us. We are on vacation to enjoy ourselves, not pinch pennies. We try all the specialty restaurants. It's part of the adventure. If we wanted to be frugal, we'd do it at home where we aren't trying to get the most out of our vacation. I have to chuckle when I hear that stale excuse that "I have already paid for a meal in the MDR, I am not going to pay for another meal in a specialty restaurant". It's like going through life worried more about not spending a penny more than necessary than allowing oneself to have the best experiences possible. If one really felt that they didn't want to spend money on something they have already paid for, then they should not be spending money on a stateroom because they have already paid for living quarters back home which are going unused. We eat at specialty restaurants too! We love the variety and feel the price is still cheaper than you would pay on land. Now if celebrity adopted an A La Carte approach like NCL... The appeal would be dimmed for us:D
Rare keesar Posted September 16, 2015 #207 Share Posted September 16, 2015 The lobster looks like it was poured out of a can. Looked liked chicken to me. Did not look like lobster. I could easily identify the side items.

Yep...One asparagus cut into thirds, Three baby carrots, and a table spoon of mashed potato's squeezed out of a pastry bag for style and flair. Defiantly $50 dollars worth of food on that plate.

jj6961 Posted September 17, 2015 #212 Share Posted September 17, 2015 The menu has not been updated as of late July. I don't think Murano is worth $65 pp. If you have never been It's worth experiencing once, but unless the menu is updated no plans to go back.
