WEGL81 Posted August 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Does anyone know how early you can drop off your luggage on cruise day at Pier 27 in SF? We would like to shuttle over to Fisherman's Wharf and squeeze a couple hours of touristing before our ship leaves. We don't need to get on the ship at the earliest possible moment, but we would like to drop it off to porters and come back later. Thanks in advance. BTW, I am aware of the $5 luggage storage place at Pier 39 but I don't really want to do that. While I'm asking, I read that there were very few porters at Pier 27, but that was a thread from right after the new Pier 27 facility opened up last year. What is everyone's experience lately? Nancyquilts Posted August 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2015 I'd think the porters would be pretty busy getting people off until after 10:00am. About 10:30 should be doable. We don't get there until after 11:00, and they're busy with us arriving passengers then.
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 16, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2015 I too would recommend 10:30 AM. Keith

A couple of years ago I ended up arriving at the port at 9am and the porters were more than happy to take my couple of bags, but...I did give them a reasonable tip which might have helped. :D
timetravler Posted August 17, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2015 9am is fine. The porters simply put your luggage in a different area then for those that are disembarking at the same time. I do agree that tipping them well is worth it for peace of mind.
jack300s Posted August 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 17, 2015 I was also wondering about a early luggage drop off time. Our ship leaves a 5:00pm and will not be disembarking passengers after a refurbishment and heading back to hawaii (NCL Pride of America).
WEGL81 Posted August 18, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted August 18, 2015 Thanks for the feedback. 9-ish it is. That will give us several hours to go to FW to squeeze out the last drop of sightseeing..
lovecruzin Posted August 18, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 18, 2015 Along the same lines as the OP. :) Can you just drive up and drop off your luggage with a porter before parking or returning a rental car? Is that easy enough to do? We wouldn't be arriving until after 11am.
