I think your dress is beautiful!!!!!!!

I also bought something similar for my Sept beach wedding. Mine also has a small train but I am getting it pinned up for the wedding.

I had my heart set on something simple for my beach wedding, but just had to have this one once I tried it on!

It's chiffon so it should not be too hot- maybe

Thanks!! I love your dress too. It is very similar to mine. I also was set on something plain and simple until I found this dress. My train is kind of long but I don't care. I may get it pinned for the wedding too. It will look great in pics though!!;)

The most fun part for us was getting between boat and beach in the dinghy! At Hawksnest, boats can only go so far in the bay and must use the dinghy the rest of the way. (We married on Hawksnest) A friend got the most embarrassing photo of me straddling the dinghy as I was climbing in the dinghy from the beach - and straddling it at that exact second. The dinghy could only hold six passengers at a time, so it made a few trips shuttling back and forth, which gave hubby and I time to change down under for our reception clothing (yep - swimsuits - by the time we were having the reception it was already 10 AM). The first dinghy group was me, hubby, and both sets of parents - so lots of good photo ops on that one with us waving goodbye.

Our reception was onboard Calypso - a catamaran. We had previously sailed on her sister catamaran, the Adventurer.

Hey everyone!

It has been practically FOREVER since I posted. Just for an update: we are still planning our vow renewal for February 2007 when we cruise on the Celebrity Galaxy for 11 nights to the Southern Caribbean. We will renew our vows at sunset on February 14 (not only Valentine's Day but the anniversary of when we went on our first date - - I know awww, how sweet?! LOL)

Everything has been booked and deposits paid so pretty much everything is a go.

If you guys will remember I had a dress picked out several months ago, WELL, it has changed. I made the mistake of getting online and finding one I liked better. LOL Here is the link to the new one:

www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2341&prodgroup=10

Still nothing fancy but I think the style is more "me" I'm not usually a lace type gal.

I still haven't decided on hair or shoes or anything like that but I still have plenty of time. I didn't make it over here to this board for a while. It has been fun to read up on how everyone is doing.

Oh! and just an FYI for all of you who might want some pretty flip-flops to wear for your cruise or beach wedding. David's Bridal has theirs on sale for $19.99 right now. They are super comfy too (I just bought a pair for the beach part of our ceremony - - I can't see myself sinking in the sand in heels) and they have them in ivory and white.

Well it has been nice touching base with everyone.

Brooke,

Very pretty dress. Now if you can just stop looking!

There are so many cute dresses out there. I had a really hard time this winter finding exactly what I wanted, and now every store I go into has several things I like! Isn't that always the way it goes. I guess I am just ahead of my time... Our renewal was very informal so it was hard to find things in the middle of winter (sundresses, etc.).

I was not "in love" with my dress, and actually took two choices and just put on the one I felt like that day! Our renewal ceremony was so wonderful, no words can describe the experience. The casual, private beach setting was just right for us. I am sure yours will be just as meaningful.

I wish you the best!:)

Hi Judi,

Glad to hear that your ceremony went well. I really liked the dress you showed everyone earlier in the posting. I thought it was very pretty. I'm happy everything went off without a hitch.

Yes, you are right, I've made a rule, no more looking online! LOL I was actually looking for two other dressy dresses for the formal dinners (I already have one) and just happened to see that dress. I think it will look a lot better on me. I'm really short and round! LOL Maybe the sash will give my waist some definintion. (or maybe I will lose some weight between now and next February - - I'm trying) I had to order the new dress, they didn't have it in stock so it won't be in until like August sometime so I'll know then whether I made a good choice or not.

I still haven't figured out what DH should wear either. At first I was thinking maybe some khaki pants with an off white linen shirt or something but now I'm thinking it would look nice for him to wear the khaki pants with maybe an off white dress shirt and a champagne tie that is close to the color of that sash. I don't want him to look too casual beside me in a nice dress you know? Both of us will be barefoot for the most part, especially on the beach part of the ceremony (and for pictures) and I bought him some nice leather flip-flops from Old Navy to wear all the other times. What do you guys think? Should I go with the ultra-casual look with the linen shirt untucked with no tie or step it up a notch and put him in a tie?? I asked him and he is like "whatever you decide" (no help whatsoever LOL)

I'd really appreciate opinions on the above...... It is hard to make some of these decisions! I won't even go into the headpiece discusson! LOL

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and thanks in advance for your opinions.

Here is what I ended up with. DH said he was wearing shorts so I had plan accordingly, and since I started looking in the winter for stuff to wear and his shirt ended up being a print, I ended up with this dress. I kicked off my shoes as soon as I hit the sand!

Our planner took all our pictures since it was just the pastor, us and the planner at the ceremony.

Well, if you're a bargain shopper, would want to save your bridesmaids even more, & don't mind online shopping, I would suggest

amazon.com

therosedress.com

groupusa.com (Has physical locations)

My bridesmaids got their dresses from amazon.com. Noone complained about fit. The bridesmaids' dress was $75 and the Maid of honor's dress was $70. There were other selections that were cheaper and even more appealing but we were going with an all-white theme so the dresses had to be all white. Also, most of my bridesmaids are plus-sized so I had to select something that came in large sizes (but it was not an additional cost). The internet thing worked for me because a couple of the girls were in other states so it would have been hard to meet up with them to go shopping or to even have a dress made for them.

Carrievision- Hello! Your dress looks beautiful!!!

I have never heard of "Bridesave" before, I will have to check it out!!

I do not have a link to my dress but it is a typical wedding dress. Strapless, chapel train, etc...I thought of getting a less traditional dress but what can I say, I wanted to be the typical "fairy princess" on my wedding day.:o

Are any of you going to be wearing a tiara?? I would like one but they seem to b really pricy. I'm trying to not spend $700!! Did anyone else have any luck??

Hope you are all well and your planning is going smoothly!!

Apparently you can go to Michaels Craft Store, and they sell them there, for a third of the price of the bridal stores.

Well I fell head first in the same trap a lot of you have and kept looking after I thought I'd found "the one"!:) This is it though!;) Even though I'm not usually a lace and embroidery kind of girl, I love this dress!:D I'd taken my Mom to the store to show her the one I previously loved and my sales lady suggested this one too. I tried this one first to get it out of the way since I already had my pick. Well low and behold I come out and my Mom gets all teary eyed and goes "that's it, that's the one!", I hadn't even gotten to the full length mirror yet but once I saw myself I forgot all about that other dress! LOL :D So now the search is offically over I've sworn off looking at any more dresses and placed the order for this one in Ivory!

PS - My Bridesmaids and Maid of Honor love their dresses even more since now it's on sale for $79 plus they get an additional $20 off since I'm getting my dress from David's too! $59 it's hard to beat that anywhere!!:D

This is my dress, not a beach dress at all. However, how many times are you able to wear a formal wedding dress, so I just had to have it. I am going to make my own aisle runner in pink and I am going to sit conch shells w/ flowers in it to hold it down, hopefully my train does not knock them out of the way!!! My flowers will be light pink roses.

I went for a tropical casual look. My fiancee is wearing tan linen pants and a silk cream top. http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_detail.jsp?stid=2319&prodgroup=110

I love that dress, and it will be lovely with tropical flowers. I tried to order one from Davids before our renewal, but it would not come in on time. :( Darn.

Best wishes.
