Welcome to CC. In order for us to help you, more information is needed. Where would you like to go and what ports of call would you like to see? What do you enjoy doing and what would be important to you to do on board as well as in the ports of call? What type of vacation atmosphere do you look for - there are many cruise lines to look at with different styles and on board amenities to consider.

Give us some more to work with other than your target dates - which BTW likely be more expensive than other times due to the Holiday time frame - and who is going. Perhaps you should consult a cruise specialist travel agent for best results.

I would seek the help of a Travel Agent who specializes in Cruising.

This is a very popular time to cruise and there might not be a lot of availability this late.

We cannot make recommendation for TA's on Cruise Critic.

Best is to speak with others who you know and get a recommendation.

MY TIP: I think everyone should have their own cabin. 2 in an inside cabin is better than 4 folks crammed in a balcony or 6 in a suite, in my opinion.

CRUISE: I like the port intensive cruises and I think your young adult kids will too. They get to sight see as well as enjoy the ship. In the evening there are lots of onboard activities.

Carnival Liberty has a southern Caribbean cruise from San Juan,Puerto Rico on December 27th. They are probably the cheapest.

Carnival Summit does the Southern Caribbean over New Years as well. I loved the Summit as it was smaller and fewer guests as well as very port intensive.

I hear Royal Caribbean is very nice cruise line for young people but I haven't sailed with them. There are several RC ships that sail out of Puerto Rico as well. .Of Course air fare to Puerto Rico is a cost $.

But if you sail from Puerto Rico you have to add the cost for all to get there as well as the time you must arrive to get on the ship the same day

You don't say if there are any children so that can make a difference with our suggestions.

I would suggest you look into Royal Caribbean and Carnival- the newer ships of each.

Definitely agree with those who say there's not enough info (desired itinerary, ages -- young adults could mean 18-year-olds to 30 year-olds, budget, etc.).

To even start making recommendations would be foolish without more specifics.

You may want to talk to friends, family, co-workers and ask for recommendations for a travel agent and then go meet with him or her after you've figured out the specifics.

Beyond that, my recs would be to have the TA take care of collecting money from each party and booking the cabins (in other words, come up with a cruise that you feel everyone would like and can afford) and then pass on the contact info and a due date to each party. Then make it clear that everyone won't be joined at the hip the whole time.

As someone said, the time period you gave may already be difficult to book at this time.
