RecoveryDude Posted September 16, 2015 #26 Share Posted September 16, 2015 I bought the plastic "Cruise tags" from Amazon for like $8 and I loved them! They look much classier cause you put your color cruise tag you print in them. Then I don't have to worry about them ripping off. There was a large pile of suitcases with NO tage on them, Im sure because they ripped off - so I was glad to have these plastic ones.
sb44 Posted September 17, 2015 #27 Share Posted September 17, 2015 Encase them in clear packing tape and staple. The packing tape will keep them from being ripped off accidentally. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
wa3hr Posted September 17, 2015 #28 Share Posted September 17, 2015 Using photo paper is another way to strengthen the tag.
happy flamingo Posted September 17, 2015 #29 Share Posted September 17, 2015 Happy Flamingo, do you want to change your upcoming Liberty date or did you sail her already LAST January.:confused: If so, we were on the same cruise! We were on the same cruise and what a great one it was! adamt Posted September 17, 2015 #30 Share Posted September 17, 2015 We just don't trust that the printer paper will hold the way the bags get loaded/unloaded. We always preprint our luggage tags, and take them to Staples where we have them laminated for around .40 per page (2 on a page). We then staple them multiple times. We also always make sure we have or normal airline luggage tags affixed, too. I would think that having a missing bag on a cruise line would be a huge headache. Shipbound Posted September 17, 2015 #31 Share Posted September 17, 2015 I just print out tags fold then and put them in my passport holder. When I get to the ship I'll give then to the porter he'll staple them to my luggage and away I go. Just do not put them on you luggage before you fly. SugarTwist Posted September 17, 2015 #32 Share Posted September 17, 2015 For the life of me I can't remember how I did it for my husband and I first cruise. I'll probably get them laminated at Office Depot or buy the cruise tags from amazon. I haven't figured it out yet.

I'd been doing the stapling at the hotel desk, but it makes sense the porters would have to have staplers to attach the tags too. Thanks.

kicia Posted September 17, 2015 #38 Share Posted September 17, 2015 We just fold, tape and use several staples. We also put two tags per checked bag because we have had one fall off before.
montekat Posted September 17, 2015 #39 Share Posted September 17, 2015 i print mine on card stock, i cut out only the important section in the middle, fold it in half run it through my laminator. Put a hole in it and zip tie it to my luggage. That is exactly what I do also. I print out enough tags to have 2 on each bag plus I print some at 50% size, laminate, and then attach to my purse, tote bag, camera, etc.
VolzCruiser Posted September 18, 2015 #40 Share Posted September 18, 2015 I fold as instructed, THEN use packing or scotch tape to enclose the whole tag, then use a hole puncher near the top and put a double strand of yarn thru the hole and tie to luggage handle. I pretty much do the same but instead of yarn we went and bought some fan pull down chains and just reuse them on every cruise

Cruzoholic Posted September 18, 2015 #43 Share Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) How did you get orange tags? We have FTTF and the ones we printed only have small circles on them noting FTTF. Edited September 18, 2015 by Cruzoholic

katiel53 Posted September 19, 2015 #45 Share Posted September 19, 2015 I used to print, fold and then use packing tape on the passes. I would then tape the ends closed as opposed to using staples as I read that the staples have hurt the hands of some handlers. I now have the clear luggage tag holders that I bought from Amazon. They are the ones with the metal grommets. So easy to use.

Towel Critter Posted September 19, 2015 #48 Share Posted September 19, 2015 Do you also purchase the optional embedded microchip enabling GPS tracking??Dang. I have to confess I've never thought of that. Thanks for the tip, friend! I can just take my tag to my dog's vet and have him surgically implant the chip. Easy peasy.
