Smaller Cruise ships

Does anyone know what lines run smaller ships that can dock closer to Hanoi and Bangkok, etc?

I'm booked on an Azamara cruise that goes into Bangkok & Ho Chi Minh city (they have 2 of the old R ships) Similarly, I would guess that Silversea, Regent, Seabourn & Oceania would be able to dock closer, if they offer those ports on itineraries.

Ponant has small luxury ships that get close.

We were on Azamara a few years ago and they did get to dock really close in - it made everything so much nicer!

Oceania can get close to Saigon and Bangkok. Nobody can get to Hanoi.

Ociana does not go into Klong Toey port like Azamara.

Thanks all for the help. I think we will be sticking with NCL. All others I have checked are double or more The price of the suite we have booked for basic cabin on other lines

Guess it's all in what's important to an individual. I'd rather have a smaller cabin and not spend valuable sightseeing time in drives that can be hours to get to the sights....

 

I cruised on Voyages to Antiquity's Aegean Odyssey last year. Not only do they dock close (Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City), they include most shore excursions and have top notch lecturers onboard ship.

Check the included items on Azamara and Oceana and you may find they are not that much more expensive.

 

For Hanoi you really want to take a land tour. It takes half a day to get there from the port.
