winewanderer Posted October 1, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2015 Hello, Belle, thanks for the poem. I lost the 1 lb. I gained over the last 2 weeks. Can't believe it's October. Happy losing. Diana
shootr Posted October 1, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2015 Tis the beer drinking month, but so far (past month) have been able to resist - not even when indulging in a cigar. (I get the funniest looks - out walking the neighborhood with my water bottle in one hand and a cigar in the other - I can just feel them saying "what's the point dummy?") Even "good" foods can trip you up - I remember mentioning how the salad at Olive garden was great - but the dressing is a whole 'nother story - killed a daily calorie and fat budget one time because I didn't check first. Crazy how how much reading and research one has to do anymore to avoid all the garbage out there... Also doing good avoiding the sweets, believe it or not, a spoonful of chocolate chips every few days seems to be enough to kill the craving. (Got them for a dessert pizza few months ago and they're still sitting in the bottom of the fridge.) I think my stomach has finally shrunk so much that if I eat the slow deliberate way, I get full on half an entree anymore. I'll still eat the whole thing, but in two sittings a couple hours apart. That and constantly chugging water (not all that hard - 107 degree record heat today) are keeping the hunger pangs at bay. Another month or so of this strict of eating, and I hope to hit my goal and relax a little and start eating a few of the things I'm not right now. But boy is it paying off - down 3lbs to 184! A belt used to be optional, now I have to wear one if anything is in my pockets. The kilt will be looking good on me come the Wipeout Fun Run next month!!! Hope everyone survives another week, here's to positive results!

Belle Posted October 3, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted October 3, 2015 What's happening to our Thursday Weigh-In? Where's the PEOPLE? Diana..Glad you got the lb off. Yes October came so fast. Pretty soon we will be singing Jiggle Bells! shootr..Great loss. Our market sells Olive Garden Dressing reg. and lite. Been buying the lite. I to have bought Choc. chips for when Choc. cravings are bad. A few is better than a whole candy bar. (Great minds think alike) LOL I lost about 1/2 lb. this week. Better than a gain. Now have we all been showering..using deodorant? Why are we scaring everyone away..couldn't be my poems.. never! Need to do something..WHAT? Have a great weekend Diana and shootr. angeleski Posted October 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 3, 2015 I stayed the same over the week. did all my workouts. I have found I have less energy to get through my workouts so I have had to make changes to my diet. as I didn't drop any weight last week, my goal for the month of October is 5 pounds. retiring soon Posted October 3, 2015 #7 Share Posted October 3, 2015 Hi all! Sorry to be late checking in, I'm just lazy!:o Belle ~ October will never be beer drinking month for me as I hate the taste. I've tried it a few times & God knows there was enough of it at my parents' place but I just can't stand the taste! Now Hallowe'en candy is a different story!;) I guess I'm doing slow & steady wins the race with another 0.2 lbs lost! Have a nice weekend & a good week. ~ Jo ~ :)
Belle Posted October 3, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted October 3, 2015 Angele..Staying is better than a gain. With your workout could be losing inches. Yes when exercise need the right food. Jo..A loss is a loss. Not a gain! Steady low loss better than not losing. Right? I like you don't like beer but love candy! My downfall!!!! Now Jan, Rose and others come in this weekend. We miss you ALL. Sorry don't remember where everyone lives but hope your not in all the rain and storms. Stay safe if your in that area.
shootr Posted October 4, 2015 #9 Share Posted October 4, 2015 Jeez, in some kind of zone today - that's what happens when the whole family is doing other things and leaves me to my devices... 16 miles on the bike this morning, then some gardening, car washing, and an afternoon of watching football. Kids have a marching band competition that doesn't end until late, so dropped the truck off at school and walked home - but took a detour and wound up getting another 5 miles in. Since the missus is working a couple night shifts, will try to surprise her tomorrow while she sleeps and get the house cleaned up good. Gotta get those brownie points! :D Oh, we're going to southern Cal for Thanksgiving with the grandkids - and found a local 5K turkey trot so we signed up for that - burn a few calories before the afternoon feast. kasi1979 Posted October 4, 2015 #10 Share Posted October 4, 2015 Wow, you are a posterboy :) for doing good. I´m having a tough week, our roof has to be repaired and I´m still awaiting news on the costs. The kid caught a cold and handed her germs right on to me. I did not loose any weight. I did not reach my workout goals. I will do better next week.
