Rare nbsjcruiser Posted October 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2015 Thought you guys might be interested in seeing a few pictures of these two beauties that were in port yesterday in Saint John NB. The Liberty was unexpected and was diverted from its planned run to Bermuda due to the hurricane. At least the weather cooperated here for them. Rare nbsjcruiser Posted October 6, 2015 Author #2 Share Posted October 6, 2015 I was able to get a few early evening shots of the Liberty just before she left. It was a nice night for pictures around the port.
Rare nbsjcruiser Posted October 6, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted October 6, 2015 I was happy with this particular shot. Once in a while the lighting is just right. Throwing this one in just for fun. The City of Saint John

Rare nbsjcruiser Posted October 7, 2015 Author #19 Share Posted October 7, 2015 These are gorgeous pictures! Thanks for taking the time out to post them. I would also like to know what kind of camera you used. :) Thanks. I'm using a Nikon D3100. For the day shots I used a Polarizing filter ($40 or so) on the stock 18-55mm lens. The polarizing filter is great for sunny days - it deepens the greens and blues and takes out reflection on water, windows and so on. I highly recommend a polarizing filter especially on cruises where the weather tends to be sunny and a lot of shots are taken near the water. You'd be amazed at the difference this filter makes in pictures. For the nightime shots I was experimenting with my son's 55-200mm lens. No filter on that.
