Just how big is "Family Style" at Giovanni's?

We are trying to decide whether or not to eat at Giovanni's on our upcoming Indy cruise. I have hard that these meals are family style, meaning that each dish can be shared between 3-4 people. My question is, are these actually family style, meaning that it feeds 3-4 people and there is still some left for people to have additional helpings? To help clear things up, here is what a family style restaurant near where I live serves as family style...

Our experience with family style at Giovanni's was they would consider the number of people at the table when they made the dishes up. We were a party of 3 and had dishes large enough for 3. A table near us was a party of 8 and they seemed to get two plates of each dish they ordered.

Just be specific when ordering, if you want a lot of something, let them know. If you are only trying to sample something, have them bring a smaller portion.

There are two of us eating and we consider the portions very large. We ate there for lunch on Navigator and we were so full that we skipped dinner entirely that evening.

We now know that they will make an "individual" entree upon request.

This is what we also experienced at Giovanni's. They will taylor the size of the dish to fit your wants/needs. :)

On our October 10th cruise there were 4 of us and there was enough for the four of us to eat with each appetizer and each pasta dish. The entrees however are not served family style. The entrees are served as individual portions.

they will plate according to how many are at the table. we are just a couple and our plates are much smaller than the table of 6 next to us.

also they will bring out as much as of the sides/appetizers as you want. only one entree per person though

and half the time they will bring something you don't even order for you to try.

Funny, we have never been offered "family style" anything. We have eaten there at least 6 times on different ships and we have always just received our own plate. Do you have to ask for family style? BTW, we had the best filet EVER onboard Freedom at Giovanni's and our most favorite server ever as well. He made it so wonderful we went 4 nights and we have never done that before.
