Well back in Miami airport after our first curse with Celebrity and best ever, I will post a review when we are back in the UK. However we can't praise the staff enough who were the real stars even with one or two rude/ arrogant guests.

Food wise we tried all three of the specialist restaurants all at a 50% discount with Murano our favourite, the main dining room was lovely with so so food next to how it used to be but that's normal these days. We enjoyed the entertainment overal although not big fans of the house band latitude. More in our review but we feel Celebrity will be our cruise line of choice from now on.

Wow...that's much the same as how we feel about Celebrity.

Just curious, how did you get a 50% off all the specialty restaurants?

Glad you enjoyed your cruise.

No personal experience, but I've seen lots of recent reports of people saying they were offered speciality dining for discounts (50%), some even mentioned haggling. I got the sense various crew members were offering to book your discounted dining.

We were offered it twice on the recent Eclipse TA. I think when bookings are slow, they go around asking people here and there. We were in the Sky lounge when we were offered 2 for 1 plus 2 glasses of champagne in Murano. Often, people from the Sp restaurants stand outside the Oceanview buffet giving out offers. It all depends on the bookings they have or have not! When we were in AQ class, we had a coupon in our SR giving 50% off.

We were offered Murano as we boarded the ship and all restaurants both at the entrance to and while eating in the ocean view cafe. I also got it by going to the Restaurant Tuscan Grill and asked for 50% off that night, we ate there twice and even got a third off the last night.

We could have eaten at a speciality restaurant every night at half price I think.

I wasn't even considering the specialties for my upcoming solo on Eclipse due to the high cover charge and being dubious about the value. I wonder if they will offer those discounts to someone who is obviously solo. I would try Tuscan Grill ("The Italian Stakehouse") for 50% off. Murano sounds like it might be a little too long/formal for me and my e-reader.

For us Murano is the outstanding restaurant. Lobster cooked table side was great and if they are quite you would certainly get Tuscan grill as a solo guest as its a big space. At $25 dollars for Murano and $22.50 for Tuscan Grill and Quisine worth it it for the service and extra space and ambience.
